🐾International Dog Day is a special celebration of all dogs around the world and the companionship and loyalty that they show to us. Dogs truly are ‘man’s best friend’, and International Dog Day is a fantastic opportunity to showcase what these special animals do to keep us safe, guide us, and bring us joy. If you think about all the roles our furry friends play in our communities, it really is quite incredible!

🗣️International Dog Day raises awareness, too, of the significance of rescuing our furry friends, as there are so many dogs in the world that are in need of a stable home, and a loving family. The day can act as a gentle reminder for us to try and help these exceptional animals where we can. Sadly, many rescue centres and dog shelters are fit to burst with abandoned dogs, often for reasons through no fault of their own.

Very little I knew about how much meeting this sexy gentleman was going to change my life back in 2017 🙌🩵

Looks like I already was into Blue…so there’s things that doesn’t change 🤪

Back then I was working for the gov in Spain and taking all my free days and holidays to come to London to visit my sister and Mr. Chew.

My love for Chew and every single dog that I have met along the way is my biggest luck and I am so grateful for that, so I say thanks to the Universe every single day.

He was the flame🔥 the start of everything that came straight after, he made me want to be in London so hard that I grabbed Bowie and drove all the way to the UK.

As we don’t really know when is Jimmy’s birthday (because he is a rescue) I felt that I had to honour his gorgeousness and celebrate him as well. Thanks and happy amazing dog day Mr Chew 🩵🫶

🐾As we mentioned the benefits of selling this tote bags are directly going to help dogs in need in different shelters around the world. We will share further info about the shelters and associations that we will be supporting so you can know as well the amazing job they do. Stay tuned cause you’ll hear amazing stories.

For the moment we are selling them in the UK and will be available in Spain in a couple of weeks as well, we will be opening up to other countries as soon as we can.

🩵 DO DOGS HAVE MEMORY? 🩵

💕When you see a family member or a good friend after a long while, when the time stops and you focus on the feelings that this moment brings to you both, when all the missing each other is just a past memory, when it seems like time hasn’t passed by and your heart is full of joy cause you’re reunited!

I am sure that you all can relate. That is exactly how we feel when we meet one of our pups after some time. This has just happened to us with these two gorgeous girls visiting us: Juno and Luna 😍

🔎 But How do they feel? Do dogs have memories? And mainly…Do Juno and Luna remember us? What do you think?? 🤔 💭

👩‍🎓It’s been scientifically proven that they have a short-term memory of about two minutes. This means they won’t remember or understand that they have caused any trouble after that (hypothetically) because some times we could tell that they do, right?

🧠Dogs have a very different system for storing, processing, and recalling memories. Dogs do not have a significant short-term memory, this doesn’t mean, though, that dogs aren’t capable of remembering things, because they do, just in a different way. They have something called an associative memory, which means they remember events based on associations, and not actual memories.

What about humans? Can they remember us? For how long? Most researchers believe dogs can remember important people and significant events in their lives for years, perhaps until death 🥹

🧍🏻‍♀️💓🐶 So, yes, your dog remembers your scent, your face (especially your eyes), and your voice and associates them with happiness, love or snuggling, or maybe just with food (did someone said Bowie?)

🩵 Emotional Support Animals with or without credentials 🩵

I have always believed that dogs can help us big time, I have experienced it myself, studied about animal assisted therapies and recently seeing it happening…Even for people that have never ever interacted with animals before. The list of benefits is endless. And I am sure as a dog owner you have experienced some.
So if you have a dog, don’t take it for granted, be grateful and work on your pups wellbeing cause this as well will directly impact in your own one.

🫀 2023 has been really intense for CDL

🩵 For this years recap we had to honour each one of the dogs that made our days prettier, happier and that made the company grow and get the most touching reviews.

👋 Through all these years we had to say bye to some of our beloved pups, here and there for various reasons, but the impact that this massive Bye in one go had for us is still hurting. Missing those amazing souls.

Such a trip, such a process…

💫 But we have to take life as it comes, and keeping the core values of the company being true to ourselves, our way of doing things and our passion, led us to our future selves.

🎊 We still have the same goal: making dogs and their humans happy

🛠️ Just changing the way we do it to be consistent and coherent to the way we see life and the love for dogs.
