✨Summer Holiday Highlights✨

Schools are back so we wanted to celebrate the success of our Summer of Fun holiday programme at the farm 🐑

Activities included a mushroom workshop, storytelling, weaving, farm to forks, pinhole photography workshop, drawing safari, minibeast hunts, donkey grooming, den building, a skull workshop, as well as cyanotype printing amongst so much more 💥🪲☀️

We hope you enjoyed the range of free activities at the farm over the Summer. Altogether we delivered over 62 hours of activities to over 300 children! ✨

✨ UPCOMING EVENT AT THE FARM ✨

🛠️ A free introductory workshop for residents of Tower Hamlets to give you the skills and confidence to begin building whatever you want from reclaimed timber!

🛠️ This introductory session will cover sourcing surplus timber, treating it to make it useable, basic tool use and carpentry techniques, and approaches to building some simple garden furniture.

🛠️ Suitable for ages 16+. Safety equipment will be provided but sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate clothing advised. All tools and tuition provided, you just need to turn up!

🍄 Come along to the farm for a unique opportunity to learn how to grow your own mushrooms. 🍄

Mushroom expert Susy will guide us through the wonderful world of mushrooms and be on hand to answer any questions.

You will inoculate logs with mushroom spores, then the logs will be placed in our very own wildlife garden to mature.

All materials provided, just bring yourself.

1-4pm, suitable for ages 11+

📷 Pinhole Photography on Thursday 📷

Join us from 11-1pm to build a pinhole camera from upcycled cans. We will then capture some images and develop them.

Suitable for ages 9+

There will be also be a later drop-in session from 1-3pm, to capture photos and develop them, exploring the farm through the lense. No sign-up needed.

Launching our Spitz Lates with …. Q***r Ecology w/Connor Butler ( ) 🌈

This gentle walk invites all curious minds to view nature from a new perspective, celebrating diversity in all life. Connor will guide you to explore the diverse and unusual lifecycles in common plants and animals right within the farm 🌿

There will be pizza, games and music- bring a friend or come and meet new friends and have fun in nature.

Farmyard assistant Emma will be running a wet-felting workshop in the morning (10-12pm), with an opportunity to learn more about the process of wool!

In the afternoon (1-3pm) Emma will be running a skull workshop giving you a chance to get up close to a range of animals skulls and taxidermied creatures!!

Join us for a 4-course tasting menu under the stars with Chef Guillaume Gillan on Saturday August 17th at Spitalfields City Farm. All the dishes and drinks are created from ingredients grown on the farm. Expect great innovative food, fresh cocktails, music and fire under the stars.
