Our happy (and cheeky ๐Ÿ˜‚) girl Rosie is a Welsh terrier, a breed with records dating as early as 1450 ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ The word "terrier" comes from the Latin "terra," meaning "earth," as all terriers were originally bred to hunt vermin ๐ŸฆŠ๐Ÿฆฆ๐Ÿฆก Welshies have been used to hunt foxes, otters, and badgers specifically, and these hardy, brave terriers often ran alongside the hounds on hunting excursions ๐Ÿ–ค๐ŸคŽ Rosie is a gorgeous example of the classic dense, wiry black and tan coat, which requires a bit of extra maintenance: hand-stripping several times a year in addition to the regular brushing all dogs need ๐Ÿชฎ๐Ÿ’ˆ You can check out more about the Welsh terrier below:

It's really important to us that the dogs have fun without becoming overstimulated, and that there are opportunities for them to relax.
