🐻 Our big teddy bear Oscar is a Bernese mountain dog, a Swiss breed named after the canton of Berne 🇨🇭 The breed was developed for a variety of jobs including pulling carts of milk and cheese or supplies for the local weavers, as well as herding sheep and cattle on farms 🐑🐄 Oscar is a handsome example of the standard coat colouring: rich black and tan, with white markings on the chest. 🍉🥥 We're enjoying late summer with some frozen treats for the pups! These Watermelon Coconut Coolers were a hit, and they're super easy to make with just two all-natural, dog-safe ingredients 😋 Swipe for some snaps of our pack licking their chops, and save this post for the recipe below:

Watermelon Coconut Coolers

🍉 250g chopped watermelon
🥥 200ml coconut milk (we recommend using unsweetened organic coconut milk to avoid any potentially unsafe additives 🌱)

1. Combine the watermelon and coconut milk in a blender and mix until smooth.

2. Pour into ice cube molds and freeze. We love the fun shapes available with small silicone molds, which also keep the treats an appropriate size.

3. When ready to serve, let the treats sit at room temperature for a few minutes to slightly soften them before giving them to your dog.

📌 The proportions listed here yield 46 treats (with the molds we use). They're 2 parts watermelon and 1 part coconut milk if you prefer to adjust.

🦴 As always, we only give treats sparingly to help maintain a balanced diet for the dogs we look after 🩵

Our sweet boy Pluto is a Lagotto Romagnolo, a gundog breed developed in the Romagne district of northern Italy 🇮🇹 "Lagotto" is an Italian dialect word meaning "curly coated duck retriever" in line with the breed's original purpose, but today the Lagotto's keen sense of smell is primarily used to hunt truffles instead 🦆🍄‍🟫 Pluto has a lovely brown and white blended coat, and Lagottos also come in shades of orange 🧡 You can check out more details at:

We were thrilled and honoured to receive this certificate from The Courtyard, St Mary Magdalene Academy--thank you so much 🙏 Since last year, we have been collaborating with them to provide work experience opportunities for various neurodiverse students. The staff have been wonderful to work with, and we love seeing the students enjoying their time with the dogs. We're proud to provide an inclusive and friendly environment for these students to learn 🩵 🐾

It's really important to us that the dogs have fun without becoming overstimulated, and that there are opportunities for them to relax.
