Westside Vets

Westside Vets The Westside Vets family have cared for pets in the local communities of Battersea, Clapham and Wandsworth for over 30 years.

We've consistently provided cutting-edge veterinary care in a caring, compassionate environment. Our clients choose us for the continual high standards of personal care that we provide. Recent years have seen a considerable upgrade in facilities in the treatment area, client records are now fully computerised for efficiency and because the practice is small we can also maintain a personal relationship with our patients.

We were recently lucky enough to have Arthur , a three - month - old Labrador , visit our clinic for a hip examination. As you can imagine , he instantly charmed us all with those irresistible puppy dog eyes !

Little Arthur wasn’t feeling his best when he first came in due to a sore hip , but thankfully , he’s already on the mend . He might even try some luck with some hydrotherapy soon !🐾🐾

🚗 Follow the same safe travel tips you used on the way to the vet.

👃 If you have multiple cats, be sure to supervise them when you arrive since the returning cat may smell different after their visit.

⏲️ Give your cat time to readjust and don't overwhelm them with attention.

If you have any specific concerns about traveling with your cat or managing their stress, please do reach out to the team or ask next time you visit us.

So, you’ve arrived and parked outside… now what?

🤗 Carry the carrier using the top handle with one hand and support the bottom with the other.

📶 When checking in, our reception team will guide you, and some practices may even have a designated cat waiting area.

⏩ Keep the carrier facing towards you so your cat can see you, and keep the sides of the carrier covered to create a safe space.

If your cat is prone to stress, please do ring our team and ask if you can wait in the car until your appointment time.

Let’s make the stressful part, less stressful! 🚗

😤 Calmly place your cat in the carrier, and if they're anxious, wrap them in a towel with pheromone spray and gently ease them into the carrier.

🚫 Always use a cat carrier during travel; securing your pet whilst driving could be a finable offense.

🔒 Secure the carrier in your car by using a cushion or a towelon the back seat secure using the seat belt.

😻 Cover the carrier with a towel and reassure your cat by speaking calmly.

🙅‍♀️ Withhold food for two hours before travel if your cat is prone to stress or travel sickness.
