Turns out, quite a lot! Do you treat your dog at Christmas? If so, just be confident that you're giving them safe snacks.

You can share ✅
Plain turkey and sausages, veggies like carrots, peas, parsnips and sweet potatoes.

Be sure to avoid ❌
Sweet treats with dried fruits like raisins such as Christmas Pudding, Mince Pies and Stollen. Steer clear of onions, blue cheese and stuffing - and of course, chocolate!

During this time of year Veterinary practices see a number of dogs/cats who have ingested their owners medication 💊
The tablets will look very interesting to your pet's even if still in the blister packets or boxes
Also cat's who like to drink from glasses can also ingest soluble medication 🥛
Please keep your medication away from your pet's .
If you are concerned your pet has eaten any medication call your Vets or Emergency out of hours immediately.
Also knowing the strength and how many tablets they have eaten will help your Vet know what action to take 🐾

As we approach the festive season🎅 we will be stocking up on foods ready for the big day. As a Veterinary Nurse I have seen in practice a number of dogs who have managed to get their paws on Chocolates ( advent calendars ) , Christmas cake , mince pies PLEASE keep these items away from your 4 legged friends.
Also on the big day a treat is lovely for your 🐶🐱 but if your pets aren't use to " human food " this can lead to upset tummies.
If your pets do eat any of the items below contact your Vet as soon as possible in order for treatment to be administered. Gail Your Village Vet Nurse 🐾
