Free entry, open daily, 9am -5pm. Visitors welcome. Kentish Town City Farm is a charity providing educational, therapeutic and creative activities.

Founded in 1972, Kentish Town City Farm is a charity helping local families, offering educational, therapeutic and creative opportunities in an urban farm setting. It developed out of the needs of people living in an urban environment to connect with animals and nature and is a focal point for the local community today. Entrance is free but we rely on visitor donations for the upkeep of the animal

s. The farm has a small core staff but depends on volunteers to help out. Children and young people are encouraged to participate in all aspects of animal care, from mucking out to helping with feeds and site maintenance. Adult volunteers also help plan and run seasonal fundraising events, holiday activities for children and help out in the farm office. The farm has a stock of chickens, cows, ducks, geese, goats, horses, pigs and sheep with some rare breeds. They are friendly and used to visitors. Piglets and lambs are born at the farm each year. The farm is located amidst dense local authority housing in North London, covering four and half acres, beside local train lines. The Farm has a classroom, under 5's activity room, a training room, fitted kitchen, stables, community fruit and vegetable gardens and seating areas. It also has disabled access including hard paths and decks throughout. As well as providing pony riding opportunities for local children the farm has also been offering Riding Therapy for children with disabilities for 40 years. We serve children with autism, learning and physical disabilities, including children who cannot walk or with limited mobility. Thank you to everyone who came to our Apple Day event, we hope you all had a blast!!!! It was so lovely to see the farm so full of life 🥰

An even bigger thank you to all our staff team & volunteers who always go above & beyond to put on an amazing, fun filled day for you all to enjoy 🤩

💚 Together we managed to raise over £6,000 which is phenomenal & a record breaking amount for us!!!!!💚

Advance notice to all visitors

Unfortunately, our essential path works are due to take a little longer than expected.
This means we will be closed to the public on weekdays from now until 6th December. Exceptions are our Young Explorers club (Tues), weekly volunteers and other pre-arranged groups.

We are open at the weekend 9-5, but only the lower yard is accessible. All animals are in their enclosures so you can still come and say hello.

🍁 AUTUMN PERMABLITZ 🍂

🗓️ Sunday 24th November
⏰ 10am-4.30pm

Kentish Town City Farm, Camden, London
After a summer of growing annual vegetables in the garden this permablitz will be preparing the garden for winter. We will be clearing away the dead plants for compost and using some to create wildlife habitats. We’ll plant green manures that are suitable for growing over winter and mulching the ground to insulate the soil against the cold temperatures. We’ll also plant vegetables that will grow over winter to give an earlier crop in spring. Join us to learn about what to do in the garden in autumn to prepare the garden for winter.

Mini workshops will include:

The benefits of mulching
The benefits of leaf mould
How a wormery works
Green manures – what are they and which seeds are suitable to grow over winter
Veg to plant now

It’s time for the next round of Young Farmers signups! 🧑🏼‍🌾👩🏾‍🌾

🌿 Bookings for the January - March term will be going live on the website on Thursday 7th November, at 10am.

Young people must be aged 8-16!

Running every Saturday and Sunday morning, 9:30am to 12pm, 11/12 January to 29/30 March 2025 🌿

🧑🏼‍🌾👩🏾‍🌾 Young Farmers learn many skills, including animal care and farm maintenance. 🐑 All attendees are expected to get involved, and we’re outside in all kinds of weather🌦️, so be prepared to work hard, get mucky, and have fun! 🌿

🐷 Pop along to our website to book your places (Thursday at 10am), but hurry as these go quicker than an apple around Shirley the cow! 🐮
