Just to make our clients aware we are currently having some renovations carried out for the duration of the month. Thank you for bearing with us.... The Arc Vet Team πΎ
As we all know Fireworks are a big thing at this time of the year, and as much as we love looking at them and it's a fun experience to share with the family, we must also stop and think about our fluffy friends.
There is a big increase in dogs and cats who are scared of the sound of fireworks so here are a few tips to help look after our four legged friends.
If your pet is scared of fireworks we do have many products that can help for example the Adaptil /Feliway to help them relax.
Please call us on 0208 444 9006 or pop in to the clinic for more information.
We are all ready for Halloween here at The Arc.
Mittens is trying out his Halloween outfits and would love to see his fellow fury friends outfits too.

As the temperature rises within the next few weeks please remember to take care when strolling with your furry friends. π‘βοΈ
Always walk your dog early in the morning or late in the evening when it is cooler.
Bring plenty of water and maybe invest in a cool coat.
Keep your dog in the shade as much as possible, please be aware just because they are in the shade this does not mean they will not over heat.
Donβt pour water on your dog and then let it walk in the sun as the water will turn warm and heat your dog more.
Never, ever leave your dog in a car! The temperature is at least 10 degrees higher and can prove fatal. Even 1 minute is too long without air-con.
Finally rule of thumb is if the pavement is too hot for you to walk in bare feet it is too hot for your dog! Burns can happen rapidly on sensitive paw pads!
Let's not forget our little feline friends too. Make sure they fo have access to fresh water and also try to not let them stay in the sun too long even if they do look like they are having fun sunbathing.
Enjoy the nice weather but please take care of yourselves and be aware of your pets health at the same time. If you feel that your pet has overheated or is suffering from a heat please call us on 0208 444 9006. πΎ

Neutering our pets is beneficial for a number of reasons including population control, welfare and health issues as well as reducing stress and anxiety of our fur babies. We recommend neutering from 6 months old but can do it earlier for cats living in multi s*x households proving they are suitable.
For more information contact Arc vets on 020 8444 9006.

Muswell hill looks stunning in the snow. With all this beauty please let's remember to be careful. Please check your pets feet after walking in the snow and make sure they are wrapped up nice and warm. Drive safe and please call us if you have any concerns.
CHRISTMAS HAS LANDED AT THE ARC! we have some lovely Christmas toys and treats here for your furry friends aswell as some lovely puffer jackets available in medium and large sizes! Feel free to have a browse when you are next in ππβοΈ
Found this poor guy dazed and confused in Muswell Hill this morning. Picked him up and brought him in for some TLC. Our local wildlife rescue don't have room to look after him so we will take care of him over the weekend.
Here's a video of Dr Will performing a keyhole spay. The technical term is a 2-port laprascopic ovariectomy. We've been performing these since 2011 and are still one of the few practices using this technique, rather than open surgery. Dogs experience less pain with this procedure compared to a standard open ovario-hysterectomy and have a shorter post operative recovery of 1 day restricted exercise compared to 10. Get in touch to find out more!
Had these 3 abandoned Staffie pups dropped in today from the pound. They've now been vaccinated, microchipped and treated for parasites. They're in need of foster homes ASAP so contact All Dogs Matter if you can help out.
Our first video of an All Dogs Matter dog being castrated by Dr Will. We'll be looking to upload more routine surgery videos in the near future to take away some of the mystery of what happens when you leave your beloved pet at the vets.
