Wow. Blown away by this review of my book on Goodreads by Bookworm86. I am utterly thrilled to receive such wonderful feedback:

"I will start by saying that if you like reading and you like cats then don't bother going any further just grab your copy of this absolutely fantastic book today as you will not regret it! You can thank me later!!

I run a little cat rescue from home called Golden Oldies cat Rescue And Hospice (you can find me on social media) so when I seen this book there was absolutely no question about me reading it!!! I absolutely loved this book immensely and must say it has got to be the BEST non-fiction book I have ever read and I cannot wait to get stuck into Anita's previous books 'Let's Talk About Cats' and 'Claws' which I believe wont just be as interesting and as fun as this book but useful to myself as a cat rescue. Anyway, talking about this fantastic book.

It is filled with 15 main stories as well as 72 honourable mentions which tell the stories of over 100 cats. Every single one of these cats have their own stories which deserve to be told and as they haven't got a voice of their own I would like to take a moment to thank Anita Kelsey for giving them one and telling their story in this amazing book so Thank You Anita!! Every one of these stories are unforgettable, unique, emotive and poignant telling the lives of brave, heroic, caring and intelligent cats all around the world. It also contains several fantastic photos of the cats involved in the stories which I loved seeing.

I would love to talk in detail about each and every single one of these amazing creatures in this review but then it would spoil the story but I do want to point out three of the ones that made me feel differently just to give an example of the range of emotions this book brought out in me. The story of Felicette really angered me in the way that she was used by humans to go into space, completed the journey in to space and back safely to just get euthanised along with 12 other cats who were chosen for the mission. This story goes to show how little compassion many of the human race have for animals and how they are just used for experiments or commodity. The story of Scarlett brought tears down my face and warmth in my heart for how a mother cat put herself in so much danger in order to rescue her kittens from a fire to the point where she herself became extremely badly burned and lost consciousness.

The bravery, love, spirit and strength shown in this story of this beautiful cat will stay for me for a long time. The other story I want to mention is that of Oliver who was the one who enchanted a whole town. This one made me laugh out loud as his owner was also called Kirsty and Oliver liked to visit the local shop and the towns Factory Shop. Well, I am named Kirsty, have a cat called Ebby who I am constantly having to collect from the local shop and there is also an Original Factory Shop where I live!!! The similarities were absolutely bizarre and if I hadn't seen a photo of the cat, and the fact he is male, I would have sworn someone had written about Ebby!! I have only mentioned these stories because I do not want to spoil the book and want you to read about these amazing cats yourself and not because these 3 are any more amazing than the others, each of the cats in this books are absolutely wonderful, special and deserve to be in this book. There is a cat who survived temperatures a thermometer couldn't read they were so low, a service cat, cats that have saved their humans lives, cats that have learnt to adapt in amazing ways and many more. This absolutely fantastic book is laid out in a way where you can pick it up and read a story at a time which is great for if you are looking for something to read on car journeys or on a work break. I, however, absolutely devoured it in one sitting of a couple of hours as I could not put it down!! It really is one of the most fabulous, emotional and heart warming non-fiction books that I have ever read. It would make an amazing addition to everybody and anybody's household and should be sold in pet stores, vets, shops and every retail worldwide. make sure you have the tissues at the ready and clear your schedules as this book is truly an emotive and unputdownable book of wonder!!! I would definitely recommend getting the physical version of this book to get the benefit of the wonderful pictures and layout! Many of the cats have their own social media pages which you are informed in their stories and I am looking forward to going off and exploring them as soon as I have finished this review. The book also mentions all the wonderful charities and people who helped out these wonderful animals throughout. This really is a stunning must read book especially (but not just for) cat lovers worldwide!!!!

Clear your schedules, grab the tissues and get ready to go on a emotional rollercoaster ride with this little book of extraordinary cats!!! You wont regret it and you wont be able to put it down!!
Congratulations Anita on an absolutely gorgeous and emotional must read eye opener and thank you so much for telling the story of these amazing beauties!! I cannot wait to read your previous and future books. I would like to welcome you to my favourite authors list and here's to your next success 🥂!!!!

Overall a gorgeous book filled with beautiful true stories of inspiring, brave and unique cats!"

Absolutely devastating news to hear one of my clients cats, beautiful ginger cat called Rio aged 3, passed away unexpectedly a few days ago. I’ve been working with them for 9 months to help get their 2 cats to be friends again after a relationship breakdown. We were so close. My clients have been incredible and I am heartbroken for them. They followed the behaviour plan to the letter and were so patient and respectful of how both cats were feeling. Rio was a beautiful gentle cat that gave them so much joy. Only time can heal the pain now but Rio had the best love and care from his guardians and that time should be cherished. RIP beautiful Rio. You will be missed ###

It's so let's all remember our beloved pets. We lost Zaza in September 2023 and our hearts still hurt over her. Please comment with a pic and let us know about any pets you have lost so we can all share in their memory and know a little about them ### This is Zaza. She had a gentle old soul and she taught both of us lots of little life lessons.

Finally!! From today all cats have to be microchipped by law. This was fought for by CatsMatter for 7 years. Also they fought to have legislation so that council rubbish collectors had to report and collect any dead cats found on their routes. Before this, they could just throw them away!!! Well done to Cats Matter for their persistent hard work:

A change in the law means every cat must be chipped by 10 June, bringing them in line with dogs.

Chapter 12 of 'The Little Book Of Extraordinary Cats' focused on a stunning cat rightly called Paul Newman. His daily life centred around Liverpool's South Parkway station where he brought joy to thousands of commuters. Sadly he passed away and his owner has been trying to raise the funds to get a statue of him at the station, which has been agreed if the money can be raised. Can you help at all? It would mean alot to the commuters and all who Paul Newman brought a daily smile too...

Enjoyed contributing to this recent article in The Times about cats and lead walking. Mine love the process but I acknowledged that a vast majority do not. Would love to hear if you walk your cat due to your individual set of circumstances? https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/0bfed453-970b-4e0e-830a-3aac25221d9e?shareToken=ebe544db4103ea0df08530d520f9364c&fbclid=IwAR1xdT3nA_k8CDJVAibM3ShzTB6rNspkSl0aTGdK2BxZYtSCZ-8ELHFaHMY_aem_AXPwVyGzUB8L4pFem-BeYLdTpUP9AaVEL7sn83q6WCrsqZDAx1-FCdyUWHPXF2tRvGvh-NAjjQVko5fVjh2kyJdL

**URGENT CALL OUT** Dear humans, Hi, I am Rodney, a playful, independent and affectionate healthy 5-year-old moggy. My current mummy and daddy adore me and I adore them but their life circumstances changed. A baby!!! How dare they without asking.I’m a cat who can get too excited during my play sessions and a few times I have accidently scratched this new tiny bald being and now the newbie is frightened of me, and my adored parents nervous of the future. It was hard for them but they have decided it is time to find a new home for me and have asked me what I would prefer. It is agreed I should be treated like a king! That goes without saying. I also would like a home with a garden or outside access and no other cats or little bald beings. If you are interested in sharing the rest of your life with me, and I am in no doubt you would, then please email my daddy Andrew on: [email protected]. I would take enquires myself but I cannot read or use a mobile. Thanks for reading this.

Rodney xx

Authors note: There is a history to this request and it was not decided in haste! Therefore, please do not feel angry as if this cat is being discarded. All enquiries will be heavily vetted and homes visited until a suitable loving environment is found.

New article on cat aggression. I wrote this after dealing with a recent case. A cat rescue in Ramsgate called me to assess a cat that was showing severe aggression. Freddie was very close to being put to sleep. Luckily I was able to work with Freddie and two very calm experienced cat fosterers and we have seen such a great improvement that Freddie will be not euthanised. It is important the type of aggression is diagnosed so that a modification plan can be given to the carers.

Do you know if a pet, cat or dog, is stolen, it’s treated as if property has been stolen so a far lesser sentence and response from police. Your pet is treated like a thing and not a precious important family member. Please all sign the petition to get the law changed so that PET ABDUCTION is a specific crime and has the full force of the law behind it for long prison sentences. The fight continues until we we get a proper outcome: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/640101
