Look at this gorgeous bear!
Kaspa has extensive hip dysplasia and osteoarthritis.
His parents have decided to try canine massage to help alleviate pain and make him more comfortable.
There are a few issues to address, but I'm sure he'll be feeling better soon!

It was lovely seeing Kai for his massage today.
He had a few sore areas that were a bit uncomfortable for this senior boy, but I worked at this boy's pace and with some advice given to his mum, hopefully he will feel the benefit of our session.

This little chap had his first experience of massage today.
He really was a brave boy!
At first he had to be on mum's lap, but by the end he was dozing and started to relax.
I thought he was going to be carried out, but after a few post massage treats, Ollie was full of beans and had an attack of the zoomies around the room, and ready to take on the world.

I met this little lady today.
She's a rescue and has only been in her furever home for 5 months.
She is such a happy girl and thankfully has landed on her paws.

It was a wet one, but busy busy!

Despite the cold and frosty weather, our pets still love and need to get outdoors! 🐾

Many people think that our pets are protected from the cold by all their fur, but this isn’t actually true! ❄️

Like us humans, our pets can also develop a dangerous and potentially deadly condition called hypothermia. Any pet can become seriously ill if the temperature of their body drops too low, and acting quickly and doing the right thing could save your pet’s life. If you suspect your pet may have hypothermia, it’s important to call your Vet straight away and follow their advice.👩‍⚕️⚠️

We have been notified that a poisonous plant is being used as decoration in a pot plant that can be purchased in garden centres and possibly florists.

The pot plant is Livistona rotundifolia (footstool palm; also known as Saribus rotundifolius) and pots of these plants are decorated with three fibrous balls. The balls are the skeletonised fruit of Cerbera odollam (su***de tree, pong-pong). Within each fruit is a kernel that is extremely toxic; a single kernel can be fatal if eaten and poses a risk to both pets and people. The toxic compounds in Cerbera odollam are cardiac glycosides, which are also found in foxglove, oleander, lily of the valley and other plants.

If you have these fibrous fruits in your pot plant, remove them and dispose of them safely. It you are worried your pet may have eaten the plant material contact Animal PoisonLine (01202 509 000)or your vet immediately.

Kai had his monthly maintenance massage today and all in all, this senior boy is doing really well.
He has a few niggles that we needed to do some work on, but he must be feeling good as a bit of his little cheeky side came out today which I've never seen.

Winnie has regular monthly maintenance massages and enjoys having them provided she has something in her mouth.
She definitely calls the shots. She always demands to have something whilst having her treatment, and if mum isn't compliant then she will whine until she gets what she wants!

If you notice your dog is either slowing down on walks, or stiff when getting up after laying down or first thing in the morning, or maybe has uncharacteristically become grumpy or not wanting to be stroked, then give me a call.

It was so lovely seeing Eton for his maintenance massage session.
When I first started seeing this gorgeous boy, it was difficult to get him to sit for his massages, nevermind lay down.
He has come a long way, and we had a fantastic session today. Well done Eton!

HRT creams are commonly used to help with the horrible symptoms associated with the menopause. BUT did you know they can be absorbed through your dogs skin and cause a whole array of hormonal stuff!!

Young puppies, weeks old, can come into season. Spayed bi***es can show signs of being in season or of a phantom pregnancy. This can alter behaviour (causes aggression) and cause vaginal discharge as well as enlarged mammary glands.

This could lead to confusion and possibly a belief that the dog is unwell or suffering with another disease causing these symptoms.

**This applies to cats too**
