KENNINGTON PARK DOG SHOW!

WHEN? Saturday, October 12th, 2024, 2-4pm (registration and activities from 12.30)

WHERE? Kennington Park North Field, in front of the new dog area. Close to the War Memorial entrance (the entrance closest to Kennington Tube)

Supported by The Hound Hut and Paws & Pause, this event was originally scheduled for Sept 2022, but had to be cancelled after the death of the queen.

Activities will include games, quizzes, free face-painting and make your own snuffle mat.

From 12.30 the Hound Hut will be offering free pre-show fluff-ups for the four-legged, and grooming advice.

Paws & Pause will show you what doggy daycare looks like and bring some enrichment equipment for your pups to try out.

The dog show itself runs from 2-4pm.

Categories are:

1. Best Dressed Up dog (2.10pm)
2. Adorable puppy: agility course round with a chance to show best trick (2.25pm)
3. Bouncy Teen: agility course round with a chance to show best trick (2.40pm)
4. Confident Adult: agility course round with a chance to show best trick (2.55pm)
5. Golden Oldie: agility course round with a chance to show best trick (3.10pm)
6. Remarkable Rescue: tell a story, show a trick - it’s up to you! (3.25pm)
7. Dog looking most like its owner (3.40pm)
8. Best in Show (3.55pm)

There will be a lovely cupcake stall on site, but no other refreshments. So BYO - or visit Cafe Collective for coffee and snacks.

VOLUNTEERS!

We need volunteers to support this event! Plenty of opportunities:

11am-12.30 for set-up (gazebos, agility course, tables & chairs)
12.30-4pm for activities support
4-5pm for breakdown

Manifesting summer 🏝️ 🌞

“As a working breed, Dachshunds love scentwork, but because they were bred to dig underground, their footwork is also pretty spectacular! They’re great at manipulating enrichments toys using their paws to find the hidden treasure. At Paws and Pause we like to hide treats in toys such as Kongs to let our Dachshunds use their feet to hold and manipulate the toy while their keen noses and tongues locate the food!..”

We normally talk about dogs but today we are just going to take a moment to appreciate the women who don't just drive our businesses growth and success, but are supported by our social impact programme and the employability workshops run at our Paws & Pause.

🐾We aim to create a safe and nurturing space where people in recovery from mental ill health and substance addiction can come to rebuild confidence and gain employability skills and experience.

🐾We have 5 women paid members of staff who have worked up through our social impact programme
