****** HEAT STROKE ******
A missed walk won’t kill your dog but a walk in the heat might.
Signs of heatstroke in dogs include excessive panting, red gums and tongue, heavy salivation, vomiting or diarrhoea, lack of co-ordination or loss of consciousness.
Please walk dogs at cooler times of the day such as early morning and late evening as dogs can’t cool themselves down the same way as humans can.
Dogs should never be left alone in a car, even a few minutes can prove fatal, temperatures inside can rise from 22 to 33 degrees in just 10 minutes.
If you think it’s too warm to walk your dog, then don’t, a missed walk or two is much better than risking potentially fatal heatstroke.
At home, make sure your dog has a shaded spot to lie down in, both indoors and outdoors.
It’s that time of year again .........

🍂The lovely Phoenix owner by our nurse Ellen having a ‘mad five minutes’ on his winter walk. 🍂
We would love to see a video of your dogs enjoying this crisp winter weather.

This is the adorable Skinny who was referred to us with a fractured pelvis which he sustained in a road traffic accident.
He has touched many of our hearts here and here is a video of him getting some well deserved tlc from the nurses. Not a bad way to spend your time recovering from surgery.
We wish him well for a speedy recovery.
(Turn the sound up to listen to his amazing purr.)
