Who’s tuning into Pete Wicks: For Dogs Sake later? 🐕

This week you’ll see Pete meet the Potato Pups who were handed into our Leeds Rehoming Centre without their mum. Affectionally named the Potato Pups after arriving in a crisp box, the staff and Pete, are all hands-on deck as they navigate the tough task of hand rearing the abandoned puppies 💛

No one should have to choose between a home and a pet 🏠🐶

Whilst the new Renters’ Rights Bill will make having a dog much easier for people in private rented accommodation, it doesn’t extend to pets and owners in social housing 💔 This isn't right. For some living in social housing, pets are their only friends.

Together, we can make sure that no one has to choose between a home and their best friend.

Join us in writing to the government, urging them to commit to giving social housing tenants the same pet ownership rights as those in private rental accommodation.

Three month old Louie, came into Dogs Trust Glasgow with a leg deformity. After being checked over by a vet, the decision was made to amputate his leg. He was very well looked after by a lovely foster carer during this time where he received lots of TLC until he was ready for a forever home 🐶 He was adopted at the start of December and is thriving in his new life after a rough start 💛 We're so happy for you Louie!

It's the 9th day of Christmas and we're continuing with our fun facts about Dogs Trust that you may not know! In 2024, our staff fed close to 20,000 bowls of dog food over the year 😲 Feeding time is always a fun time and can be slightly chaotic with a litter of pups! 💛 [Video description: A litter of puppies being fed biscuits in their food bowls. As 2024 comes to a close we want to say thank you to all of our amazing supporters this year. For the 3rd day of Christmas we want to celebrate all of the amazing work our incredible volunteers do at our centres.
