We know that the death of a pet dog can be as devastating as losing a family member 💔
But sadly, many owners who have experienced this felt that there wasn’t anyone they could speak to about their grief, they’d be judged for grieving the loss of a dog or they were embarrassed about their level of sadness 😥
Our very first Walk for Our Old Friends (WOOF) event is being held in October this year to allow people to walk in memory of their beloved pets and to share their cherished memories and the fun times they had with their canine companion 💛

Teddy came into Dogs Trust Leeds when he was only 6 months old with a broken leg 🐶
Once he recovered he was very quickly adopted and has never looked back!

“Domestic abuse can lead to homicide, so it is lives at risk for the people and the dogs.” Our Freedom service, which is now in its 20th year, supports dog owners fleeing from domestic abuse, by placing their pet in temporary foster care until they are safe and can be reunited. With many refuges unable to accept pets, our life-saving service enables owners to access safe accommodation, giving dog owners peace of mind that their dog is in a loving foster home. We don’t want a pet to be a barrier for someone taking that step to safety 💔 Sadly, demand for this service is increasing. But we can’t deliver the life-saving service that we do without having amazing foster carers on standby and ready to take those dogs. Fostering with us is a hugely rewarding experience that comes with so many benefits. Is it warm where you are? 🥵 Help keep your dog cool with our frozen banana and peanut pup pop recipe 👇 Ingredients: • 3 tablespoons of peanut butter (make sure it’s xylitol free) • 2 well-ripened bananas • 1 tablespoon of coconut oil Method: • Combine the ingredients and mash the mixture until smooth. • Pour into your mould tray and pop in the freezer. We left ours in overnight, but the mixture should be firm after 3-4 hours. • Serve!
