****** HALF PASS *******
Like any lateral movement the shoulders must lead!
This is a video of a horse I took to PSG, being a big, flexible horse with spring and alot of natural cadence, he would on occasion lead with the quarters if you didn't set him up for the movement in the correct way.
When teaching half pass, I use shoulder in first to set up the correct bend around my inside leg, and to get the shoulders where I need then ready to start asking his body over.

Yesterday I got back in the saddle after 3-4 weeks out after breaking my finger. Still with a dodgy right hand and not being able to hold the reins properly but was missing riding.
Here I am riding Fanella's lovely KWPN Onyx.
Using counter canter to help improve straightness in the canter

******* SITTING TROT *******
many times when coaching, when you see riders sitting trot, they do it with a thrusting motion in the saddle and end up bouncing around all over the place.
Think of trot as a more lateral movement over the horses back, staying loose in your hips and back and allow your hips to follow the movement and think more "left seat bone, right seat bone" allow your seat to be at one with the horse and not moving against the moment
