Terms of service - Dog walking:
Please ensure you have read the full terms of service before booking with us.
Acceptance of the services is deemed acceptance of the Terms and Conditions and an agreement to pay the fees on time.
Payment will be required upon booking via bank transfer before any service is provided. Payments will only be refunded if the booking is cancelled at least 24 hours before the booked slot. This ensures I am able to offer the space to someone else. Moving a booking may be an option, as long as it is at least 24 hours before the slot (unless in exceptional circumstances), and I have space available in my schedule.
We reserve the right to cancel a booking for any reason, including but not limited to: health issues, weather, transport issues, etc. Refunds/Moving bookings may be an option depending on the reason for us cancelling the booking, and will be discussed case by case with the client.
When walking, unless there are exceptional circumstances, We will be using our own dog gear. This is to ensure we know the integrity and reliability of the gear itself, and to offer the best service for your dog. Gear will be decided based on an assessment of your dogs size, strength, on-lead manners, etc.
When we are walking, we use treats and toys as positive reinforcement markers. If your dog has an allergy, or cannot be given certain toys for any reason, please make sure we am aware of that upon booking/assessment. We will not hold any responsibility for issues caused by food rewards/toys if it has not been disclosed to us.
Dogs in our care will not be allowed off leash during our walks. This is to ensure we have the best possible control over them to be compliant with the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991. We will use a longline where safe and appropriate to do so, to give the dog the added space to sniff and explore.
My (Luci) assistance dog is likely to be present during walks, unless there is a genuine safety reason why she can't be (if your dog is excessively dog reactive/dog aggressive). She is likely to be off duty during these walks, but is still there for my safety to task on the off chance that she is needed. She is a well mannered, well behaved dog with good dog-dog social skills and good, fair communication. She is a great dog for less confident dogs to learn from. If she is going to be present on walks with your dog, I will ask to arrange a meetup on neutral ground before starting your booking.
We are happy to walk dogs who are reactive/aggressive as long as appropriate measures are in place to keep everybody safe. I (Luci) have experience working with "difficult" dogs. If your dog is a bite risk to dogs or people, it will need to be muzzled for everyones safety and peace of mind. If your dog is reactive or aggressive, we are within our right to use a label of some kind (such as a lead wrap or bandana) that discloses this, to create space from other walkers. If your dog has any "quirks" regarding dogs, people or anything else you think could cause a reaction, it needs to be disclosed upon booking. If we are not made aware of something that turns out to be dangerous, we reserve the right to cancel the booking, no matter how far into the walk we are, and no refund will be given. We take safety very seriously, and this includes the safety of ourselves, your dog(s) and the general public.
The maximum amount of dogs we will walk is 4 (two handled by Luci, and two handled by Adam), but this is subject to assessment. We want to be sure that we can give all dogs in our care the attention and supervision that they need. If we feel we wouldn't be safe to walk your multiple dogs together, separate bookings may be required. This will be discussed on an individual basis.
Walks will always take place on a green space, such as a park for example. Traveling to and from the walk location is not counted as part of your booked time (if you book an hour slot, we will travel to the walk location, exercise your dog for an hour, and then return the dog back to your home address). If there is a park within a maximum of 5 minutes driving distance, there will be no additional cost to your booking. If there is no local green space, additional travel charges may apply. This is to ensure your dog gets a suitable amount of exercise, freedom and fulfilment from the walk. If your dog is unable to travel by car, and there is no green space within 5 minutes walking distance, we will be unable to take the booking. When traveling by car with us, your dog will be securely buckled into the back seat using a canine seatbelt (the type that plugs in to the seatbelt socket and clips onto a harness) and a harness that is provided.
We will accept no responsibility for any mistakes made on behalf of the client if they have not read/have misread the terms of service.
