I was joined by today in treating some of my clients and it was one of the best days of work I’ve had in a while!

Self Employed Veterinary Physiotherapy can be a professionally lonely job unless you’re in clinic and it’s awesome to bounce ideas off a colleague every once in a while, I don’t want to be blinkered by my experiences, and even better if it’s with a friend!

Please check Liene out and if you’re in the Manchester and Lake District area consider contacting her for a session. I can tell you you won’t be disappointed.

If you’re also interested in having a session with myself please don’t hesitate to contact me and I will happily book you in!

Now this one is a special paper and the culmination of many years of work by the research team I had the fortune to be a member. We started this work before I even started training to be a Vet Physio!

What’s even better is this paper we managed to get published as open access! No paywall! No restrictions to access! Open for anybody to download and keep after peer review and publishing in the Journal “Animals”.

It’s another Water Treadmill study but one of the first to observe the longitudinal effects and I can’t say how happy I am to see it published especially as I’ve not been as helpful to my team this year with finishing off my MSc 😂

This is the type of work that helps me form my experience and knowledge as a Veterinary Physiotherapist and if this is the type of person you’d like to work with your animals then don’t hesitate to get in contact with me!

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I’m making a last call for responses from vet professionals in support of my thesis alongside the field portion of my study.

If you could spare 5 minutes of your time filling this out testing the ease of use of an existing posture categorisation method I would appreciate it. Otherwise thank you for your time.

Hey horsey friends I have a few of my late Charlie’s rugs to get rid of and some of them just have some big rips in and it just wouldn’t be reasonable to try selling them but the idea of them going in the bin and land fill seems a little crap. Does anybody know of anyone who takes old damaged rugs and repairs or just find a use for them?

If you are in anyway connected to animal rehab could you please do me a favour?

As part of my MSc project I am looking at a posture categorisation method that my wonderful colleagues from my research days occasionally employed but never reported on as the method hadn’t been validated. I’m looking at this method to see how objective the categories are and how well individuals can categorise horses back and abdominal posture based on the definitions.

The questionnaire should take no more than 10 minutes and you’d be helping me immensely.

Thank you for at the least reading this wall of text 😁

Somebody is far more attentive than somebody else 😂 I got to treat some long standing clients today who are always a delight as quirky as they can be. I swear they’re like the ☀️ and 🌙 with how they take to treatment.

I’m incredibly happy with how these two have changed in the last year especially seeing as Jasper (left) came with a unique challenge.

I don’t broadcast my clients conditions because I don’t like to give out information but I tell you Jasper has been wild! 😂

I love m’y work and would love for you to join the team! If you have a beloved animal and would like a Physiotherapy session for:
performance, rehab, training or treat!

I do get to see some beautiful animals in my work. What’s better is I get to help them feel better, relieve tension and catch potential issues before they progress to anything too serious and I’ve been treating the lovely Millie since late last year to mange some existing conditions.

She’s done so well she’s preparing for some team chasing and I couldn’t be more delighted that she will be fit and ready to enjoy herself!

She’s a sensitive soul as well and I have to really take my time when treating her as she can be quick to show her displeasure but I always try to let any animals I treat feel more comfortable and I certainly want them to feel like they can move away from me at a moments notice. Doesn’t mean I’m not aware of the big teeth 😉 comfort of the patient and safety is my watch word!

If you have any questions or even would like to organise a session then please don’t hesitate to contact me by

This was one of my wonderful clients this weekend all the way over in Lincoln! Yes I travel for my clients!

This wonderful man was worrying his owner over the week before the appointment to the point we brought his session forward and altered his exercise prescription over the phone, flexibility in everything I do not just joints 😉, but after a thorough assessment we found what was happening and targeted treatment and he’s ready to go! After some sleep, Physiotherapy is tiring work for the patients!

I love my work and I get so overly excited when I’m presented with a subtle problem. I know that when I’ve found it the animals world is going to be so much better and it give me that warm fuzzy feeling 😁

I’d love the chance to help your animal too! I an a fully trained, qualified and insured Veterinary Physiotherapist registered with IRVAP and a researcher in equine orthopaedics from the former Animal Health Trust. I offer manual and electrotherapies, exercise prescription and consultation. I offer training and demonstrations/presentations as well as guest lecturing for a range of levels.

If you’re interested in anything I offer or would love to discuss how I may be able to assist you then please contact me:

A little late to the new year post but I’ve unfortunately been suffering with that awful bug going around.

So what was last year like for my little business? Amazing really!

I helped a client compete at two of the highest profile events of the UK’s equine calendar HOYS and Olympia placing well.

Pinpointed and later helped find musculoskeletal issues that have been plaguing some of my clients for years in some cases.

Help handle some novel musculoskeletal injuries to manage pain and discomfort and even improve muscle in places I honestly didn’t think was possible.

Attend CPD including the IRVAP conference where I got to see work I spent years contributing to being presented to professionals that really, truly understand and appreciate it

Continue to work with my old research team and publish some more papers on work I put so much of my work and time into to improve the knowledge and welfare of the animals I have spent my life so far working with.

See a lot of wonderful animals that really appreciated my help.

Maintain the joint health of my wonderful 20 year old little Show Jumper who has Osteoarthritis in the coffin and fetlock joints of both forelimbs and still moves like a dream!

I love my work and only want to help more animals over the next year. If you’d be interested in treatment or maintenance of your animals from an insured and qualified member of IRVAP with years of orthopaedic and welfare research experience and a genuine love for each and every animal I treat then please get in contact with me on 07557946477, Facebook messenger or Instagram messenger or through my website jbtveterinaryphysiotherapy.com or to ask questions or consult with me about rehabilitation or to provide talks or presentations.
