Another on point recall...when I first worked with these dogs the red collie was actually so noise sensitive she would completely shut down if she heard it....look at her now...all credit to her owners hard work. Well done Ruth Rodwell xx

Here's something the whole IMDT team write, email, present, say, think and act on many times a day, every day:

"Keep focussed on the actual dog in question. It is the specific dog and the information you are gathering about them individually that is important, not so much dogs in general. Shut your eyes and put yourself in the room with the dog and their owners and imagine the scenario. This helps to teach you to apply the theory we are teaching you to the dog standing before you. One of the most important things we will teach you."

Lovely puppy walk this morning...with some familiar faces mixed with some new first timers at dogs like Dylan.

First time off lead for Maggie the labrador💖
Donny the bulldog learnt lots of restraint and controlled behaviour whilst in the company of people and dogs.

Sonic and betsy are seasoned professionals... growing in confidence and reliable recalls.

Happy relaxed and confident puppies this morning on a puppy assisted walk.
Similar age pups coming together to rehearse recall, socialisation and confidence building in real life situations...a park!!!
Sako and Ted the adult dogs came along too and Finley the 5 yr old who is learning all about how to raise a well educated puppy! Well done all what a lovely walk xx

My first puppy workshop was a hit. 🥳 I usually do 121s but a workshop allows dogs and owners a snapshot into some basic training.
It's amazing what can be achieved in a small space of time...well done all you were all stars!!🤩🤩

One of my favourites today...
Rudie the English bull terrier. Rudie loves ❤️ sticks so much so that it's landed her in the vets a couple of times and her owners with a few whip marks and bruises!😔
Today was an assisted walk to give Estelle some timely interventions and re direction for Rudie so she doesn't get to self reward with getting a stick...a lovely very successful hour long walk. Good girl Rudie💕 and well done Estelle 👏 🐕💓

This will cover puppy basics...intro to loose lead walking....how you can get a fabulous recall..intro to sights and sounds of unusual and everyday textures...techniques for taking your puppy out and about for a happy relaxed life with your furry friends. Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting up with Claire with Stanley puppy and Ted her 3yr old jrt,and Linda with Betsy puppy and her 5yr old cross scruff.
Escorted walks allows you to be in the environment that you walk your dogs in. With me being on hand to help if you come across a challenging situation...what to look out for and how to put into practice training techniques you have learnt on a 121 out and about in the real world....
Both Claire and Linda have regular 121s but wanted me to come on a walk so they can learn out and about!! Here's a pic of the self named mutley crew!!!

This morning I had to say goodbye to one of the best things in my life.
My darling Dylan,my soul dog my partner in life and business my shadow in everything I did left this world. His legacy will live on through everything I do. For now I'm taking some time to mourn and adjust to life without him.💙

Another puppy 121 today. Stanley is lucky and has gone to a home where dogs already live.
This can be great for puppies but also challenging for owners becoming a multi dog house hold.
Claire called me in to go over some routine puppy training and also how best to make sure Teddy, Claires JRT is keeping up his training and is well balanced in welcoming and help settle Stanley into his new routine!!

Stanley is Betsys full brother and still at home with his mum until claire his new owner picks him up after her holiday...training never starts too early!!

Thank fully Dylan is now stable! He is still on some medication and remains a bit of a medical mystery but he is feeling a bit more like himself....which means I can get back out there and help you lovely people live life to the fullest with your gorgeous dogs!! Hi everyone...we have been a bit quiet last few days here at dogs like Dylan and have had to cancel appointments....Dylan was taken gravely ill this weekend and all my attention is on him....I'm so sorry for having to cancel and postpone bookings this is not something I take likely....until Dylan sees the vet today im not sure when usual activities will resume thank you for your patience and i will update the page as soon as i can..
To cheer me and Dylan up pls post a picture of your dog in its happy place. Heres a picture of Dylan enjoying his first doggy ice cream earlier this year!! ❤️
