Super advice regarding sticks and our fury friends 🐾

‼🌳 STICKS 🌳‼

⛔ We all know that dogs absolutely LOVE to chew on a good stick but PLEASE DONT LET THEM!⛔

Sticks come in all different shapes, sizes and weights. This means when you throw them, they can be unpredictable in how far they’ll go or even which direction they’ll travel in and how they’ll bounce off the ground.

Pair this with the danger of thorns and other branches on the stick itself, it makes an extremely dangerous toy for your dog.

Injuries can range from mild to life threatening, whether you’re throwing a stick or letting your dog chew on it. These can include the following:

⛔ Splinters in your dog’s gums.
⛔ Choking on bits of the stick.
⛔ Eye injuries.
⛔ Cuts on your dog’s body.
⛔ Bacterial infections.
⛔ Internal bleeding.
⛔ The stick impaling your dog’s body.

Veterinary professionals have seen cases of sticks being caught end-on and impaling a dog’s throat as they’ve caught it. This can leave splinters deep in the soft tissue at the back of their throat which has been known to cause permanent damage and pain. Sadly, some owners have to make the difficult decision of putting their dog to sleep all because of a silly stick.

As a dog walker, I will NEVER allow my furry friends to chew sticks when they're in my care... No matter how much they give me the puppy eyes 👀😂

I hope everyone takes this post seriously as some of you may not of known how dangerous sticks can unfortunately be.

Yesterday was a gorgeous day for dog walking 😊 🌞

We had Teddy and Maisie joined by my little Bella 🥰

I then picked up my girl Dizzee from the vet after a small tooth surgery feeling very sorry for herself. She is back to her usual self thismorning, thank you to everyone who wished her well 🥰
