Boon (Owner & Head Trainer) ๐Ÿ‘‹

I have had dogs ALL my life but they were secondary to horses for most of it!! That is, until I brought Matty home at 8 weeks old.

Having discovered โ€œAbsolute Dogsโ€, I started training Matty & my other 3 dogs (!) with their game-based training.

Despite being socialised & trained well, Matty has always been incredibly nervous & hyperactive. So with this in mind I put all my efforts into helping him cope with life, leading me to become a Pro Dog Trainer!

I love working with dogs & their people. I am extremely proud to say that I have helped almost 200 clients, from a variety of backgrounds, personalities & training needs.

I adore what I do, & have spent a lot of time honing my craft & facilities to make sure all our Dog-in-a-Box members benefit from the same great experiences!

Puppy biting is normal, but when it gets too much, it's often a sign of tiredness. Redirect them to a safe chew toy or guide them to their crate for a nap. Remember, they're just teething, not being aggressive!

Our team would not be complete without the fantastic work that Wobble does with anxious & reactive dogs. He is definitely now an elder statesman but just has the most wonderful temperament & an uncanny knack of being able to read any dog from 20 yards!

He will instantly assess whether a dog is truly aggressive or whether they are just nervous โ€“ many dogs have been in full reactive mode; hackles, barking, lunging & he has marched calmly up to them, introduced himself, communicated that he is there to help & immediately diffused the situation!

He is one in a million & a huge asset to the team!

Real-Life Results Through Games

I have had a lifetimeโ€™s experience of working with horses and being a qualified riding instructor (BHSII). Although I have owned dogs all my life, I have never done any formal training with dogs and I had been incredibly lucky to have problem-free dogs.

However, in 2015 I acquired an 8 week old lab x collie pup who was absolutely adorable but over the years he has tested my solution-seeking as he combines almost permanent over-arousal with a lot of fear issues. It is to Matty that I owe my journey through Absolute Dogs and into becoming a trainer myself. We are still working through issues with him, but he is a much happier dog and is becoming more balanced daily.

I have a passion for dogs and finding solutions to struggles to turn them into strengths! I am keen to help all pet dog owners to have a fulfilling relationship with their dogs so that the dreams you had when you got a dog, become a reality.
