We might be biased, but lifesaving dogs might just be the happiest dogs? 🤔🐶🩸

We’ve done a lot of celebrating recently for our first ever donor to reach 40 donations (rightly so) but it’s also bittersweet because this was Sharwood’s final donation 😥 He’s now off to enjoy his well-earned retirement and live a life of luxurious leisure (spoiler: he already was!).

This is because when dogs turn 8, they retire from donating, so we always need more amazing dogs to register as donors and continue the legacy of their friends by following in their paw prints 🐾

Early morning pack walk - no excitement when we leave home!

It was a hot one today, I was out at 7.30am this morning with the pack. Plenty of water on board amd slightly worried about the grass seeds but dogs were pretty calm anyway They always stay close it’s easier to keep an eye on so many! And a more relaxing walk

So we have a gorgeous 18 month old lab who was fine and friendly for the first 6 months of her life and has become reactive to all dogs, lunging and barking aggressively at all dogs. Her owners were avoiding dogs at all costs and had a visit to bradgate a few weeks ago which was disastrous.
We spent just over an hour chatting about how to read her body language and behaviour properly and stopping her pulling on the lead.
We then bought the pack out to meet her one by one Her owners were astounded when she didn’t bark or lunge at any of them

My beautiful little Amber was 10 years old yesterday in the isle of harris with her new friend Giles who has given her a new lease of life which she didn't need. I didn't even know the date that's what its like being in the hebrides!

My mum passed at 12.30pm yesterday As you can imagine I am utterly devastated and in complete shock. I won’t be booking clients in for the next two weeks and current booking will be transferred to week commencing 29th April or after. Thank you for your understanding and for all of your kind messages at this incredibly difficult time.

I really don’t like posting my business on here but my mum Carol Sault is in Glenfield hospital respiratory ward critically ill. I am praying for her recovery.

1.… such a great little cocker. He’s come on leaps and bounds since our home visit.

I was called in sue to his aggression towards strangers or anyone entering their home.

He made such good progress on the day and is still improving daily.

He is also lunging and barking at dogs and people outside.

But he walked successfully with the pack today and we made it right through bradgate park without any mishaps and even sat at the tearoom

My clients tell me they would never attempt bradgate particularly not on a busy Easter Sunday. Very successful day.

7… so normally this chap is lunging and barking at everything. This was his 1st dog pass by and he was amazing

2….so walking into my clients home. Their dog was very focussed on me as soon as I walked in. Normally he would be off lead jumping up people and probably receiving affection reinforcing his state of mind.
Instead, I had requested he be on the lead when I came in.
As you can see he was very alert and excited as I came in and was receiving affection, which was reinforcing his current state of mind.

3… dog introductions must only be done when your dog is in a CALM state of mind or else you are rewarding unwanted excitable behaviour

1….. so we have a super friendly, entire male lab x rescue.

Owner had asked him to stay whist he opened the boot.

He ignored the command, jumped out in an excitable state of mind and then was praised for doing it.

This is quite a common theme in the dogs that I work with on a daily basis.

5…. So incredible she didn’t lunge after the dog pulled towards her. It is absolutely fine to put a dog into a sit. You will not hurt them or make them scared of you.
This young lady NEEDS guidance. To help her become well balanced and HAPPY again
