We are heartbroken to lose yet another fox to netting.

It’s unclear how long this poor fox had been trapped, but the swelling in his front legs and maggots in the wounds on his back legs suggest several days.

We did everything we could: removed the maggots, warmed and massaged his cold, swollen legs, treated the wounds, and provided fluids, heat, pain relief, and antibiotics. Unfortunately, his heart had suffered too much strain, and he passed away overnight, likely from cardiac failure related to the stress of the situation.

This didn’t need to happen. Two minutes to roll up or pack away the netting could have prevented his suffering.

Please share his story to help educate others about the dangers ALL NETS pose to ALL ANIMALS, domestic and wild.

**IMPORTANT**

❗PLEASE SHARE THIS POST - Carbon has escaped his cat carrier when he was in our car park. He was last seen near the Metals Company on Bishop Meadow Road.

He's very much a standard short haired black cat with a tiny bit of white fur at the bottom of his neck at the front.
He's quite timid around humans but is quite food orientated.

If you have any sightings please do not approach call us and keep monitoring until his owner is able to arrive.❗

REHOMED - Pixy is a 4yr old small Doberman female (only 23kg), she is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, flea and worm treated and has a clean bill of health. She will be rehomed with 5 weeks free pet insurance.

Pixy came to us recently from the Met Police where she had been under their care for 2yrs as part of a welfare case, she had done nothing wrong but had been seized alongside many other dogs in a large case where they were living in terrible conditions and used for breeding. She has received great care though and it's now her time to find her forever home after a conviction was secured.

Pixy has settled into home life with us brilliantly, she can be a little worried with new situations, not surprisingly, but she soon settles and her personality shines through, she is a sweet, loving, tactile girl who is enjoying plenty of attention but will also settle well in her own space and is particularly enjoying having the comforts of a sofa.

Pixy is very good with other dogs, she has always lived around lots and joined our large pack with ease. She is super playful and can be a little intense with some of the dogs who tell her off, most of the time she will accept the telling off but in typical dobe style she has at times given back as good as she gets so WE ARE SEEKING A HOME WITH ANOTHER YOUNG, PLAYFUL, NEUTERED, MEDIUM TO LARGE BREED DOG FOR HER TO PLAY WITH. This is not negotiable, she needs another dog in her home, preferably you will be doberman (or similar) experienced.

Pixy is house trained, well behaved in the home although she does like to try and steal things left on the side so put your remote controls away!, she sleeps totally quietly downstairs at night with the other dogs and has no separation anxiety. She has no possession issues with either food or toys and is fed alongside other dogs with no concerns. She knows "sit" and will take treats gently.

Pixy walks ok on the lead and travels ok in the car, she was nervous but fine with the vets recently.

She will need a home with a good sized secure garden who can provide her with the exercise a young dog like her needs, she loves running around our paddock with the other dogs. She has been great around our equines and livestock and doesn't really take any notice of them, we haven't been able to test her around cats or children, we don't have any concerns about her temperament though so any resident children would need to be 8yrs and over, younger visitors would be fine.

Being fostered in Swadlincote, Derby's but can be rehomed further afield subject to home check and adoption donation of £350

If you can offer this stunning young lady her forever home please email us telling us all about your home offer including your FULL ADDRESS AND CONTACT NUMBER to [email protected]

DO NOT LEAVE PUMPKINS OUT FOR WILDLIFE!

After the festivities of halloween, there are many leftover pumpkins! Please DO NOT leave these pumpkins outside for wildlife. Pumpkins are not a natural food source for many wildlife and can cause wild animals to become very poorly with upset stomachs if they eat them. This can be fatal for many creatures.

What could you do instead?
🎃 contact your local farm park or zoo who may be able to use the pumpkins for the animals there

🎃 compost your pumpkins

🎃 bake a pumpkin pie or make soup

🎃 dispose of your pumpkin in a food waste bin

Thank you

REHOMED - Loki is a black and white male born 23/6 and Isaac a ginger andwhite boy born 2/7/25 and are seeking a home together. They are fully vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated and have a clean bill of health. They will be rehomed with 5 weeks free pet insurance. Loki is already neutered and Isaac can return to one of our vets in Swadlincote, Tamworth or Northampton for a FREE neutering in a few weeks time once big enough.

Isaac was born in a garden along with his sisters where their mum did a great job caring for them even though she had been thrown out of the house by her irresponsible owners and left to fend for herself and her babies, thank goodness concerned neighbours contacted us about them. Loki was handed in as a stray at 10 weeks old after being found wandering the streets all alone, no one ever came looking for him.

Isaac was of course shy on arrival at around 6 weeks old but have grown in confidence as he settled into the foster environment and now happy to interact and have a fuss. Loki on the other hand is full of confidence and is a real cheeky chappie getting into all sorts of mischief, he really helps Isaac to come out of his shell. They are very sweet kittens.

The boys get on well together and they love a game of chase with each other and other kittens they are in foster with. They will often be found snuggled up for a snooze. They are typical lively, cheeky, playful kittens who love to explore.

They can live with other friendly neutered cats, could learn to live with a calm cat friendly dog and would be suitable for a home with quieter children aged 7yrs and over.

The kittens are both fully litter trained with wood pellet cat litter, they are enjoying their Whiskas kitten food in jelly and IAMs kitten dry food and are eating well.

They will need a home WELL AWAY FROM ANY BUSY OR FAST ROADS with access to a nice safe garden to play in once old enough and neutered. Being fostered in Swadlincote, Derby's but can be rehomed further afield subject to homecheck and adoption donation of £100 per kitten.

If you can offer this beautiful boys their forever home please email us telling us all about your home offer including your FULL address and contact number to [email protected]
