💔
We are heartbroken to lose yet another fox to netting.
It’s unclear how long this poor fox had been trapped, but the swelling in his front legs and maggots in the wounds on his back legs suggest several days.
We did everything we could: removed the maggots, warmed and massaged his cold, swollen legs, treated the wounds, and provided fluids, heat, pain relief, and antibiotics. Unfortunately, his heart had suffered too much strain, and he passed away overnight, likely from cardiac failure related to the stress of the situation.
This didn’t need to happen. Two minutes to roll up or pack away the netting could have prevented his suffering.
Please share his story to help educate others about the dangers ALL NETS pose to ALL ANIMALS, domestic and wild.
