A Santa Bug?

One of our White Spotted Black Assassin Bugs immediately after Shedding its old exoskeleton. As the new skin hardens the red turns black.

I am emailing on behalf of Outwoods Edge to say a huge thank you to you all.

All involved in the day had such a wonderful experience and are still talking about it around school. Attached are a few examples of some art work the children in EYFS have created as a result of Stuart's visit. The children in my class are also building mini Geoff's out of linking cubes for their maths pattern challenge this week.

It was such good luck and timing for us and we are so grateful that this experience was sponsored. Sadly, shrinking budgets are causing so many wonderful enrichment activities to be diluted down or cancelled.

We all wish you the greatest luck in your adventures and hope to see you again in the future.

We have had a very busy, but great, week. One day in Wimbledon, another in Hendon, yet another in Wigan & then, yesterday & today, 3 workshops in our home town of Loughborough.

Thank you to all the lovely people who attended our sessions & made them so enjoyable.

California Kingsnake Shedding Skin Today

We get lots of questions about how snakes shed their skin. Here is a clip from George, our 22-year-old California King Snake in the process of shedding this morning. An old boy with a few mobility issues but happy & eats like a beast 😊❤ Enjoy ...

Also managed to catch Cecil, our banded centipede, hanging around on the roof of his tank (until the light shone 😀).

We haven't seen Cecil for two or three months so today I would investigate his state of health. His tank needs cleaning anyway, so a good opportunity to do both. As you will see in the video below, he is fine & dandy & he is now back in his clean tank exploring. Very grateful for the recent enquiries & bookings for online & face-to-face visits.
