Going on holiday? If you are having to leave your dog behind, please make sure you use a licensed boarder.

Anyone who carries out a business of boarding dogs in Charnwood must have a licence from us, and therefore if you are paying someone to look after a dog then they need to be licensed. This does not apply when paying someone to look after your dog in your own home.

Licensed dog boarders are assessed against minimum standards and the majority also comply with optional higher standards to ensure the welfare of your dog.

Full information and a regularly updated list of current animal activity licences is available on our website at www.charnwood.gov.uk/animalwelfare.

Hello I’ve got to find Paddy the stray cat a permanent home unfortunately. He’s now very tame and insists on staying in my house most of the time! I took him on as I couldn’t leave him to starve in my late mothers’ house. I was hoping he’d relocate to my garden but he’s turned out to be really quite sociable. Andy and I are both allergic and he is terrorising the dogs so the balance in the household is not great! He doesn’t go on worktops and like to sleep on your settee or the floor!
Can you please think of anyone who could help?

As so many of you lovely, loyal customers have always asked me about my mother, I wanted to inform you all that she passed peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of this morning.
I also would like to thank every single one of you for being so understanding and patient over the past 18 months, despite the numerous times I’ve had to cancel or move your appointments because of personal circumstances.
I’d also like to wish you all a Happy Christmas and give your dog a big hug from me!
