As a registered freelance groom I offer support for farrier, dentist and veterinary visits.
This week I was acting veterinary assistant for a client who has annual routine treatments for all the yard. Another amazing learning experience supporting the vet who was flown in from overseas to complete the required work. 🧑⚕️👩⚕️🏥
I never stop learning, been a freelancer it’s taught me so many more valuable skills working on different yard environments with interests in different disciplines. Here is a photo of this stunning horse I tacked ready for his owner to work. 🇬🇧

She went and achieved a 10th place in her first ever BSJA competition at the pony premiere arena Uk with a clear round and a brilliant one it was!

Do you give your pony a nice mattress?
• horses and ponies should have atleast 3/4inches of bedding (10cm) layed down, whether your bed is on concrete or mats.
• not only does a thick bed protect their limbs and joints but also allows them to rest more
• allows for R•E•M sleep, meaning they are getting the best rest they can 🛌
• having a thick bed for our ponies to rest means they can be performing at their best when the time comes to be exercised
• not to miss…. A thick bed also stops bad orders 💩

Some of you may know that my heart horse that I have owned for 5 years, has had a really tough year being diagnosed with chronic laminitis 8 months ago! 😬
After vet inspections and regular treatments from both our amazing vets and farriers and 8 months box rest! My pony is now rideable again although she isn’t not jumping like she use to I am more than happy to just hack my pony for the rest of her life!
I have developed a rehab riding plan to bring her back into work slowly, along with a strict diet plan to ensure we don’t take a step backwards and relapse. So far everything is going as expected and planned 🤞
And who knows she might come 100% right again and be jumping better than ever!
bringing a horse back into work takes time and it’s not always the easiest to do on your own, if you are in need of some help bringing a horse back into work drop me a message and I’d be more than happy to come and help you , or even if you want some tips and tricks I’m at the end of a message 😊

Clipping season in full in swing now, I am getting booked up fast for all my services so if you are interested don’t leave it till last minute to book in advance.
Booking rules
• give as much information as possible, (location, service requirements, what clip, how your horse behaves ect…)
• let me know what dates suit you and times then we can get the best date booked in for the both of us
• a deposit is to be paid when booking for any services this is non-refundable if you are to cancel less that 48 hours in advance!!!

I often get asked what’s the best way to produce a flawless clip, no lines or snags. I say : BATH, BATH, BATH!! 🛀 Bathing your ponies the night before or morning before a clip is the best way. • removes the grease from your horses coat • allows the clippers to glide through the coat easier • no rough patches on a silky well groomed coat • finish of with a bath after a clip removing any loose hair and allows for a nice fresh finish 🤩 Here’s one of my ponies after being clipped 🥰

What we do at ER EQUINE!
I cannot stress enough about how important ground work is for your ponies! Ground work is the key to success and reaching your goals, not only will it help your horses manners but also gives them variation in their work. Tonight I long reined cassie, I have owned cassie 2 months now and we started long reining in an inclosed area to ensure she was listening to the aids asked, she was a star 🤩 Ground work: Long reining Lunging Liberty Free schooling Ground work is something I do with all my schooling clients not only to asses the horse but also to ensure the horse is happy and enjoying their work without putting to much pressure on them at once 😊
It’s getting warm!!! ☀️ This means a lot of us are going to be washing our ponies down after rides and given them a good scrub before competitions 🧼 • Leaving suds of a horse can really affect their health, this will cause sores and will cause irritation to their skin which can lead to them loosing their cost and scratching a lot • After a ride during warm weather, leaving the water to Evaporate of their coat is a much more efficient way to Cool your horse down rather then sweat scraping the water of, not only will the sun evaporate excess water but also any sweat and heat that the horse may have left underneath the coat. • we shouldn’t bath our horses everyday as the natural grease on their coat provides sufficient protection to the elements whilst also allowing our horses to sweat on their own terms whilst still having that natural shine in their coat Here’s a video of my two having a scrub I can do this service just pm me for a price and I will get back to you 😊

It’s leg day!!! My own pony got a full fresh clip today and also her legs taken off I do this service for a small fee of £8 on top of any other type of clip that you are wanting 😆
Another client today also had a hunter clip with legs left on Duke was amazing and did really well , I spent a bit of time getting Duke use to the clippers round his face and ears, he wasn’t enjoying it so we left his ears and gave him a good experience ready for next time 🥰 Looking smart 😊
