World Sleep Day 😴

Ever feel like your cat is always asleep?! Cats can sleep up to 16 hours a day, with kittens and older cats snoozing for a lot longer.
Cats are of course natural hunters. So, they tend to conserve energy between lots of activity.
So if your cat seems very lazy, try not to judge, it’s just their nature! 😻

Fun fact: Cats can dream 🥹 Ever seen your cat twitching in their sleep? They’re probably off chasing imaginary mice.

Exciting News!! 🥳

We are able to offer Laparoscopic Bitch Spays over the coming weeks 🤩

Benefits of Laparoscopic Bitch Spay:
📍Less Invasive Procedure
📍Quicker Recovery Time
📍Reduced Pain Levels

What happens during a laparoscopic spay?

🐾Your dog will be given a general anaesthetic so they will be asleep throughout the whole procedure.
🐾 Once asleep, our nurses will clip and clean the skin over your dog’s abdomen.
🐾 Using special laparoscopic instruments and the camera, our vet will perform the procedure.
🐾 Your dog will stay with us until she has fully recovered from the anaesthetic and is ready to go home. Most of our patients recover very quickly from this procedure.

We are hopeful that we will be able to offer this procedure more routinely over the course of the year, and we are super excited to be able to offer appointments now! An extra bonus is that with the Healthy Pet Club, you will get a 10% discount 🥳

We are part of the Respiratory Function Grading Scheme!

Respiratory Function Grading Scheme assesses Bulldogs, French Bulldogs and Pugs for a breathing problem known as BOAS (brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome).

The scheme advises owners if their dog is affected by BOAS and gives guidance to breeders on how to lower the risk of producing affected puppies. A selection of regionally approved assessors (vets trained especially in BOAS) have been appointed to carry out respiratory function grading on dogs of these breeds.

Our awesome senior vet Adriana is able to perform this consultation, at either The Veterinary Hospital or The Veterinary Surgery 🥳 Call today to get booked in!

If you would like further information, please visit the Kennel Clubs website at: https://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/health-and-dog-care/health/getting-started-with-health-testing-and-screening/respiratory-function-grading-scheme/
