Established 1968 and still under original ownership North Farm ceased trading as a riding school in 2021 focusing on livery and a touring caravan/motorhome/camping site. Please note, we no longer offer hacking/riding lessons, only camping and livery facilities. Livery:

We offer both herd and individual field packages. We are fully insured and have care, custody and control within our policy shoul

d you require assistance. The livery fee includes a box for each horse and individual storage space is provided. Hay and straw can be purchased on site. A fully alarmed tack room is provided for your convenience. We are situated adjacent to Mortimer Forest with direct access from the farm onto a bridleway. A sand arena is also available for schooling needs. Camp Site:

Our seasonal camp site holds an unrivalled position overlooking the beautiful, historic market town of Ludlow and its impressive Norman castle. This small, friendly, quiet farm site has 11 level grass standings with electric hook up with extra space on the slope for tents. Picturesque views of the surrounding South Shropshire hills. Two showers (no meters)

Millie rode Darcey for the first time today (outside of the farm boundary) and I think Peter & I will be fighting for her going forward. We all had a lovely ride and Jim was very pleased to be able to ride Magpie instead of cheeky Daz!

Earlier in the summer Jim took Highway for his last hack, the only one of the little Hs that wasn't Heather's, he was destined for this little lad. They bombed around the wood as fast as they could, jumped all the jumps and are the best of friends. Highway is now enjoying his retirement, lots of grooming and extra treats!

Frosty after a night of -4° but beautiful nonetheless 🥶

Some sad news... the perils of having such wonderful horses that live to grand old ages.

Yesterday, in the warm autumn sunshine, we said goodbye to Millie's boy, Spike.

Although never earmarked for her, the pair were inseparable, and he quickly became her horse, teaching her many things and making her the fantastic rider she is today. He was her best friend and the love they shared was beautiful which made saying goodbye all the harder.

We're so thankful you found your way to us Spike, thank you taking care of my little girl, we'll miss you handsome man ###

Our Story

North Farm is a British Horse Society approved and South Shropshire District Council licensed riding school. With both ponies and horses available to suit the individual rider North Farm has direct access to Mortimer Forest from an unrivaled position over looking the historic market town of Ludlow. We offer rides for the complete novice to the experienced rider with instruction from Peter Dickin (Proprietor Instructor - R.D.A. Group Instructor, ABW) and his team. Hacks through the beautiful forest avoid road work and enable riders to take in the countryside whilst learning to ride. An outdoor arena, on site cross country jumps and show jumping facilities enable us to cater to your riding needs. Group hacks, family rides, parties, private lessons and pony days are all available upon request. Rides can be one hour, one and a half hours or two hours long. We take children from the age of 7 and riders up to a maximum weight of 15 stone. For more information please visit our website, email us or give us a call on 01584 872026.
