Yet another gorgeous dog I used to walk.
This is Manu & he was an UTOGANON.
When.i first saw what breed he was, I had to Google it as I had no idea what an UTOGANON was.
He was basically a wolf x with a 'domestic dog'.
He certainly got plenty of attention when out on our walks.
I remember him scaring the living daylights out of this gentleman we saw. We were walking over Standing Hat, Brockenhurst & Manu ran.out of the trees towards this man.
He thought he was a wolf & wasn't quite sure what to do so stood still. After a few mins of reassuring him that he wasn't in danger, he met Manu & realised he was OK.
Sadly Manu moved away but I often think of my "wolf buddy"

This photo of the gorgeous Gilly has just popped up on Timehop.
This was my very first walk with Gilly..9 years ago.
Gilly is sadly no longer with us but I can remember how excited I was to walk a German Shepherd.
Gilly & I shared many many playdates & to this day, I still call Matley (Lyndhurst) Gilly's playground. I used to walk her there because she loved playing with fir cones.

Now this may sound sad that I've actually counted how many signs there is in Whitefield Carpark, Brockenhurst......there is 11.
The fact that there's 11 signs in just one carpark, why is it people are still going over to the Ponies, their Foals & the Donkeys???
I see this all the time when I'm driving around or walking.
The other day, a little girl was hurt because her parents got her & her sister to sit down next to a Foal that was laying down. The Foal suddenly stood up & accidentally caught the little girl's arm. The Father then said to me "bloody animals are dangerous. Shouldn't be allowed on the forest:. I.told him that he was in the wrong & that you shouldn't go near the Ponies etc.
Ignorance & blatant disregard for the Forest Code aswell the disrespect for the animals

So so sad this morning.
I arrived to pick up my OES buddy only to find his owner holding this gorgeous girl.
Nolay passed away last night & found this morning...in one of her favourite spots in the garden.
Nolay was remarkable. She was 19, deaf & nearly blind but lived life to the full. Very happy girl.
I believe that cats especially, know when their time is & go & find a place to die.
RIP Nolay. Sweet dreams ❤️
