๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ„ Winter housing can be a very stressful time for cattle, particularly if you are moving animals, changing diets and mixing groups, and it can have a negative impact on their immune system efficiency, which can result in an increase in the spread of disease ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ„

It does however give you a chance to give cattle a thorough MOT - not only are vaccines vital but its worth checking for fluke (we have had a very wet year), mites, lice and sucking parasites.

Speak to the team today about how we can help your herd today, remember prescription decisions are for the person issuing the prescription alone.

๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ’‰ As the weather starts to change and we look to Autumn housing itโ€™s time to also start preparing for Autumn vaccines.

Vaccines are a great preventative tool that all farms should be using, however vaccines take time to provide a sufficient cover to an animal.

Therefore, they need to be given in ample time and planning ahead is necessary to give your herd the best protection.

Speak to the team at Cheshire Farm Vets to discuss the best protection for your herd, 01270 310010.

Thank you to Cheshire Police Rural Crime Team for their visit todayโ˜บ๏ธ

Their statement โ€œPROGRESS ๐Ÿ‘
After yesterdays court result the OP RECALL work continues to Educate, Enforce and make attempts to reduce matters of Livestock Worrying and Attacks. During my patrols I have been out and about delivering Canine DNA recovery kits to farmers and farm vets.
This exciting project is being managed by staff at Liverpool Johns Moores University who also oversee the steering group comprised of stakeholders from the police, farming unions and associations, forensics science and veterinary groups. (see the LJMU website for greater details)
Over the next 2 weeks the team will be dropping off lots more kits across the country.
We will keep you updated to the progress of the project.
