The pleasures of working as a farm vet 😂 🌧️
🪰🪰🪰🪰FLYSTRIKE ALERT 🪰🪰🪰 🪰
Please monitor your flock closely for signs of maggots investation.
The earliest signs of flystrike is irritation which can be seen as tail twitching, stomping, and rubbing or biting the affected area. In our particular case - head shaking / bad smell.
This tup was treated on our vet visit. We did remove the horn a bit more, cleaned the wound with iodine solution and applied fly repellent. He also received a painrelief.
Please do contact our office on 01270310010 to speak to one of our vets when you have any concern or would like to know the best prevention/treatment option for your flock!

What a beautiful suckler cows! Is it not adorable when Blondie comes and say bye to the vet ❤️. All back into the field after some scanning was done by the vet and our vet student Beth.
The farmer mentioned that the Angus cow we scanned was a wedding present. She was called ‘Gift’. We were happy to announce that she will be calving twins around Christmas time 🤗.
Another clear test! It’s a bit different TB testing when it was snowing. Luckily all went well.
