How stunning is this colour 🧡

I have this gorgeous billet bag for sale, made from an old saddle and set of reins but with a stunning new orange leather gusset and orange thread 😍 The strap is adjustable for the perfect fit. 🧡

This bag was one of my first commissions. A man bag. The brief was to retain as many of the original saddle features as possible so that you were able to tell the leather used to be a saddle. Red thread was chosen to make the bag look good and was a good match to the used leather so that it didn't look out of place either. The bag was designed to be an everyday work bag to hold lunch box, keys, etc. This bag was a gift for Christmas and the recipient was very pleased with it.

The main body of the bag and the flap, including the gusset is completely made from one of saddle and the strap is made from an old stirrup leather.

Do you have old tack taking up space? Starting to have a spring clean? If so don't send your leather items to landfil! Please donate them to me and I can recycle most items within my work. I either use it to create products or use them within my repair work. I want to do my part to help the planet by reducing landfil items.

I also do commission work so if there's a particular item you don't want to part with I can use it to make a product you can use and keep the treasured memories close to you.

This bag was brought to me for repairing. The leather was well worn and turned out to be my clients first ever bag, and to make it more special her late husband bought it for her. As you can imagine the bag holds alot of precious memories. When I accepted the repair she said to me she didn't want it to look new and she loved the look it had now. I added a new fastner so the bag was once again able to be closed properly. However due to the leathers age the leather was so thin and fragile I added an extra piece of leather to reinforce it. This piece of leather came from an old saddle. I could have replaced the whole flap however this would not have been what the customer wanted.

Another place I used old saddle leather is on the bottom of the strap where it was so close to snapping. I cut out using the old bit to ensure it matched perfectly to the other side. The final steps where to give it a deep clean and condition, this will help the bag to carry on for many more years but not cover any of the scratches/marks it has.

7 years today I was last in the Raven Magazine - the Raven Magazine is my villages local magazine that is sent out 4 times a year. Its an honour to have another article out in the latest one. Its great to show the village how far my business has come and the struggles I've experienced over the years. A massive thank you to everyone who has supported me so far, here's to the next 7 years!

My 2nd bag that is up for grabs is this gorgeous large saddle bag. Made from an old saddle as the base of the bag and the flap. Gorgeous new green leather for the gusset and flap. Then an old pair of reins used for the strap. I have added new buckles to add the extra details.

Tomorrow (Saturday 7th December) I will be at Rainow Church Christmas Market! 11am-3pm. I will have my 3 bags ready for sale, along with my bit toilet roll holders and stirrup towel holders. Another bag completed 😍 This bag which we call The Billet Bag, is completely made out of an old saddle, the base of the bag and the gullet. The handle is made from an old browband. Meaning the only new material on this bag Is the thread and billet stud. How amazing is that!

Snowy days at Cheshire Saddler HQ! Patch and Sophie are enjoying there day out in the field playing in the snow! ❄️ Stay safe out there everyone! Anyone who is waiting to collect/drop of anything to me I will be in touch once it is safe to do so. Our track is not accessible due to snow.

That's a wrap! I'm delivering my final orders this week. I am taking some much needed time off with my family. I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported me this year, whether you have been a customer or not all my followers are incredibly valued. It's been one hell of a year and thank you to everyone for understanding the circumstances. I'll be back In 2023 bigger and better! For now I wish your all the happiest of Christmas' and a happy new year! I will be closed untill the 9th January but i will still be responding to messages and taking bookings for the new year.
