Can you believe we are coming to the end of another year!!
Totally Mutts has had a busy year we are proud to announce we have another groomer, Luca works all day Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon, photo to follow
We would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and happy and healthy New Year.
Personally I have had a hard year losing my mum but again thank you your cards, flowers and kind words it really did mean so much.

The best news ever, Dottie has been found alive!! Her paws are burnt (let that be a precautionary message to everyone!) but the owners are so thankful to everyone that went out looking for her during the last 24 hours. The machine behind helping find a dog is phenomenal and amazes me. People are so unbelievably kind, not just those that know the owners but so many strangers that give their time to help find missing dogs.

Sadly another dog has gone missing in the area. Please keep your eyes peeled if you’re out walking your dogs this evening. Dottie was lost in Wooburn Green, last seen in Flackwell Heath but lives in Marlow Bottom. Please be aware that she will be super nervous so approach gently with stinky treats if you see her. There are posts all over the local pages with contact details, but by all means contact me and I will notify the WhatsApp search group.

We will be leaving for Italy on 18th June we are now full for the lead up and the couple of weeks I return in July, our next available appointments are from August 16th, if I haven't seen you I wish you a lovely summer and hope we can catch up soon.

Hello All,
I hope you are well, just to let you know this year our last working day will be Saturday 18th June I will then re-open on July 15th until the 27th July, I then reopen fully on August 16th, this disjointed holiday is due to my daughters 18th and my sons 21st, please book early, the 2 weeks when I return are already filling up, if I don't see you have a lovely summer.

Unfortunately we have had Covid symptoms and are currently waiting our PCR results, Gina our daughter has already tested positive🤬 it does mean that unfortunately we have no option but to close this week, all being well we will be open as normal on Tuesday 12th

Totally Mutts has now closed its doors for 2021 and will re open on 4th January 2022.
I would like to thank you for all my fantastic Christmas presents, I am very grateful for your thoughtfulness, I'm one lucky Auntie Jane to have you and your dogs visit me 🙂
All that is left for us to say is we wish you a very Happy Christmas and fantastic 2022, and we look forward to seeing you next year.

As a vet/groomer I see so many longhaired and/or doodle dogs who are matted. You need to feel the coat right at the root not just at the surface. Shaving these dogs short if matted respects the animal welfare act. We cannot have them on a table for hours being brushed - the pain and discomfort would throw animal welfare out of the window!!

If you have a longhaired and or curly haired dog do discuss brushing with your groomer. You need to get it right to avoid unnecessary sores and discomfort. Start from a young age to get them used to it and do not just concentrate on the body! The legs and face get matted to.

Avoid the shave and trips to the vet by maintaining the coat. Your groomer will become your best friend as they will help hugely ❤️

Totally Mutts is now closed, we will re-open on Tuesday 5th January.

I would like to say thank you for all my Christmas presents, tips and cards, I cant tell you how much I appreciate it, I am so lucky to have such fantastic customers. This year has been very hard for all of us and I don't think the hard times are behind us yet!!!

Happy Friday Everyone

Well wot a week!!!
Just to let you know due to dog welfare this lockdown I'm able to remain open however if you are uneasy about keeping your grooming appointment I completely understand so drop me a text and I can re arrange your dog's groom also if you or any of your family are showing symptoms of Covid 19 please do not come again I will rearrange your appointment. Sam will also be providing his dog taxi for £10 return for whoever would prefer not to travel, the vehicle will only carry one dog at a time unless there are more dogs from the same family and then cleaned in between trips, it proved very popular last time and is still in operation so again drop me a text if you would like to arrange it.

I know we can all get through this if we work together, please remember to swop your lead for my slip lead on the hook outside and take yours home and do the same in reverse on return.
Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Hi All

We have finally decided to go to the house in southern Italy, its been a a hard decision but..........
We will close on the 10th August and reopen on Saturday 5th September.
I have sent messages to customers I think the closure will affect but if you think your dog will need grooming before I go please contact me and I will ensure you get an appointment.
I would like to wish you all a fantastic healthy summer and I will look forward to seeing you in September.

Hello to everyone. I am sure you are all wanting to know when I am opening and able to do your little treasures. I have received advice and based on very stringent new protocols I intend to open on the 11th May, this will only alter if there any major changes announced by the government on the 7th May.
You won't be able to drive to me (non essential travel) for those of you who are close enough to walk great otherwise my husband will need to collect and drop off.
I must wear PPE and between each groom I have to thoroughly disinfect the dog shed.
I prefer Bacs payments but if that isn't possible I can take credit cards.
I am fitting a hook outside near the bench for you to attach your dog, you will need to take their collar and lead with you and use the slip lead I provide.
This is only a small list of the Pif Covid-19 regulations that will directly affect you, I have lots more I need to abide by.
The time taken between grooms will significantly restrict the amount of dogs that can be groomed per day.
As you can imagine I have a long waiting list and am asking you if your dog is badly matted that you contact me and I will have to prioritise these dogs for their health and wellbeing
As you can appreciate the additional costs involved in implementing the regulations including the transportation are significant and I have no alternative but to pass these costs on which is done with a heavy heart.
If you can walk to me the additional cost onto your regular groom will be £8, if you require the pick up and drop off that will be an extra £15.

A groomers poem

On the 23rd of March, 2020 to be true,
We laid down our scissors, our feelings quite blue.

We don’t know much, just how to groom a few.
And we miss them like mad. Bichon’s, yorkie’s and Poo.

Terriers, Spaniels and Schnauzers too,
Labradors and Staffies, we won’t forget you.

Our Shih-tzu’s, Maltese, Westies and Heinz
Never have we known such uncertain times.

So please give them a hug, from all of us here.
We will be right back, just making that clear.

So give them a brush, everyday if you can.
Keep them cool in this weather, with a paddling pool and fan.

A little scissor round the eyes and a tidy round their paws,
A good walk each day will help keep down the claws.

Our shop is so quiet but your pictures see us through,
Making us smile when there is nothing else to do.

We know we’re just groomers, a luxury for some.
But most of all your dogs friend, when all said and done.

We miss you so much, every single one.
We can’t wait to get back, right where we belong .

Keep them all safe and all human’s too.
If we get through this well, it’s the best we can do.

I have just watched the prime minister's address and with a very heavy heart I have no alternative but to close immediately i 'm hoping it will only be for 3 weeks and of course I will keep you updated, as soon as I'm allowed I will re open and hopefully normal service will resume and this nightmare situation will be behind us.
