Fireworks can be scary for some of our dogs, so leading up to the big night you can provide them with a desensitisation program, something like a video of fireworks on the tv, in order to get them used to the sound of fireworks going off. You must give them lots of praise if they don’t react to it and if they don’t like it you can provide them with a cosy, safe space, like a crate for them to hide and keep them safe. Watch there body language tentatively so you can see if they are frightened or not. I’ve had to teach dolly to give my baby granddaughter space as although they are both in love with eachother and are hard to separate, this baby is at that age where she will grab anything and everything she can get her hands on 😂😂. It’s MY responsibility to set the clear boundaries these two need, meaning dolly must respect boundaries so can’t disturb my granddaughter and vice versa.

Following the new experience of having a new member to the family, I’ve had to teach dolly to give my granddaughter space, as although she is so in love with her, this trouble maker of a baby is at that age where she will grab anything and everything 😂😂.
