We've had some great walks this week, and the sunshine always helps! Apologies, I haven't had time to post them all, but here is a selection. We've been to the river, the orchards, the lock, the woods and the north downs, to name a few and I love seeing all the dogs exploring and enjoying different places. 🐾

Today, I found a dog wondering down Castle Road in Allington. He had a collar on but no ID tag. We managed to reunite him with his owner, but it could have been a lot quicker and saved a lot of worry had he had an ID tag on.

Dog owners in the UK are legally required to put their name (owners, not dogs), house numbers, and postcode on a tag on their dog in public places. I don't think many people realise this but you can be fined if you don't.

A phone number is obviously helpful. It's worth getting a couple as they do come off and get lost.

I have business tags, which I add to my off lead dogs for extra peace of mind (as modelled above).

If your dog goes missing and doesn't have an ID tag the next step would be to scan the microchip so it's always worth making sure this is registered to your current address, too!

I have heard of dogs going missing with no ID tag and blank microchips 😥 so best to be on the safe side.
