Have been refurbishing this lovely stone pond in Kent. This is the transformation so far.

Once completed, it will be fitted with the latest technology in pond filtration equipment!

Keep a look out, we will post pictures of the finished pond when it's up and running in the next couple of days!

The water will be much clearer when we visit to do next month's pond maintenance!

Recently upgraded the filtration system on this large koi pond in Beckenham.

The pond now has a new Burtons Aquatics BD-500 drum filter fitted with 3x 30watt submersible Uv lights, new pumps, water top up system and all new pipework.

It was a bit of a tight squeeze to fit in the new equipment under the decking, but managed to get it all plumbed in and still gain more access than before for maintenance!

We will post some updated pictures of the pond and how clear it's looking now, on our next visit!

The pond was covered in duck w**d so pond was drained and cleaned, new plants supplied, a new OASE UK Filtral internal fountain pump with filter and uv light and new Oase power led lighting installed.

Recently refurbished this lovely garden pond in Kent.
The old liner was leaking so the pond had to be dismantled so a new liner could be installed.

The client also asked for the waterfall to be rebuilt to suit the pond better and look more natural.

Plants were re-potted in new baskets, faulty filter & pump were replaced with new and a new switchbox installed.

Filters were throughly cleaned, pond floor hoovered, pumps cleaned and surface netted for leaves.
Live bacteria then added to the clean filter and uv bulbs changed, also fitted a new pond cover net.

Pictures show a recent pond we re-lined in Chatham, Kent.
The existing pond liner had deteriorated and split, as a result, the pond lost the majority of its water volume over night!
A new rubber pond liner was installed and the fish are back in the pond.

This client's koi were showing some mild signs of distress. We sampled some mucus under the microscope and discovered the fish parasites, known as Trichodina! After diagnosis, the pond was medicated, eradicating the parasites before temperatures are too cold for effective treatment! #koipond #koifish #fishhealth #ponds #japanesekoi

Costia parasites on koi

Here's a quick look at the tiny Costia parasites found on a koi earlier today during a fish health visit. The clients koi had been sulking for the last week and flicking in the water with irritation. After a few water tests and microscopic analysis we were able to diagnose the problem and apply water treatments to eradicate the parasites. Remember, it's always best to act quickly if your fish are looking distressed, don't ignore it or the health of the fish can deteriorate quickly!
