The Best - not very exotic - Doggy Hotel

The Best - not very exotic - Doggy Hotel The idea is that your beloved pooch can come on holiday (whilst you are away) and enjoy lovely accommodation, great company, good food and inspiring walks.

What we offer at Olde England is doggy holidays and day care as reasonable rates for the discerning pup. Situated in the Kent countryside Olde England Best Doggy Hotel is a detached Grade 2 listed cottage set in an acre of enclosed garden with lots of good sniffs and plenty of great woodland and fields to explore. The hotel has a number of permanent residents (who regularly eat me out of house and

home) so a meet and greet with the pack is recommended before making your booking. Facilities include several dog beds, settees and armchairs and spa bookings can be made through the hotel for dog washing and grooming services. This is sometimes nice for home going preparations. Walkies is twice a day - usually one long and one short which are tailored to the guest's requirements. For the sporting extreme dogs and those who may wish to partake of the Health Clinic package vigorous runs at the Woodland Trust Estate Hucking are provided daily. The garden is open all day on request. Breakfast and dinner are served for you although we recommend that you bring your own supplies to avoid upset tummies. Treats and nice extras are also available if you are not on a strict dietary regime. We do ask that you have your fleas under control and vaccinations up to date please before visiting. Sorry we can't take naughty boys with all their bits - because Spud still has his . . . which also means no ladies in season either . . . unless you would like scruffy Jack Russell cross puppies . . .they would be cute though. I am insured and will be happy to show you my certificate - in return I will ask your hooman to sign a bit of paper so that I can travel you in my car and take you for walkies off lead if possible. Prices are per dog as the spaces are limited. The day care only (hours agreed between 10am to 5pm) rate is £15 and the holiday boarding rate per calendar day/night is £25 + bring your own food and a blanket if you’d like one. Drop off is an agreed time between 10am and 4pm and collection is an agreed time between 10am and 5pm. Early drop off to join us for walkies is at 7.30am sharp and can be arranged if you have stayed with us before.

Digby the Lab is back for a break and, much to his delight, Sid the Boxer arrived today so he now has a fun playmate! Lulu and Vinnie the Pomskies are also back with Sid but are keeping out the way of the boisterous boys . . . so hopefully - if this lovely sun continues - I will be able to get some pics of them later!

Hello Everypawdy! I'm back from my break!

And I have an important announcement! I have just had my Hotel Inspection and am delighted to say I am now 5 Star!!

I have achieved this as I am now qualified in Canine Care and Welfare Award Offqual level 3.

Defra now requires a maximum of 10 dogs to one experienced carer which means (as I have 5 dogs of my own) my places are now limited to 5 guests so please be sure to organise your bookings in advance to avoid disappointment (on my part too!)

My new price list which begins on 1st January 2025 is as follows:-

The Best (not very exotic) Doggy Hotel Price List 2025

Collection is at an agreed appointment time by 5.00pm
48 hours notice of cancellation needs to be given or full payment will be required

For holidays - per day/night = £35

£25 (as above) for the day, plus that night £10 - i.e one calendar day

(e.g an 8 day holiday would = 7x calendar day/nights @£35 plus 1x calendar day (daytime only) for the last day of the holiday @ £25 total £305 - deposit £80)

Drop off is agreed appointment time between 10.00am and 4.30pm and collection is between 10.00am and 5pm.

Sleep over package 1 night only = £50 Collection at appointed time next day between 10am and 12.30pm.

Deposits for holidays = £10

Short Notice cancellations of less than 4 weeks require payment for the booking in full.

Easter (4 days) = +£20 per dog extra

Christmas Eve = +£10 per dog per day extra (total Christmas period +£45)
Christmas Day = +£20
Boxing Day = +£15
New Year = +£15 (total New Year period £25)
New Year’s Eve = +£10

Payments can be either bank transfer or cash - no cheques thank you.

Bank Transfer:
Account name: M M Diprose
Account number : 64408876
Sort code : 60-60-08
Ref : your pets name/month of holiday e.g Boris/Sept (not your surname thanks - I don’t remember those . . .and please don’t make up your own ie “dog”!)

If you pay by Bank Transfer please drop me a text to let me know you have done so - don’t feel shy - please help me out and remind me if I forget/make a mistake with your payment . . . ! . . . (I suffer these days from “Menopausal Swiss Cheese Memory”)

Unfortunately I cannot offer a discount for more than one guest as my places are limited.

And for your information . . .

Please note that deposits for holidays are non-refundable as I only have limited spaces at the Hotel. Short notice cancellations of less than four weeks will require payment for the booking in full. Also please note that if you request dates they will not be secured until your deposit is paid, so be aware that if you delay payment of your deposit then your reservation is not guaranteed until the deposit is received, and you could potentially lose your booking.

My “office” hours are 10am to 5pm Monday to Friday for bookings etc as I occasionally have a life too! And, much as I am fond of you all, please respect my down time (unless you are just being sociable of course 😁) as the dogs all keep me pretty busy too and have their own needs and demands!

If you do need to message me outside my office hours please bear in mind I won’t deal with your message then and am entirely likely to forget all about it. Also please let me know your timings in advance as it helps me to organise my day. The best way to get hold of me is either by text or WhatsApp as I’m finding messages arrive in so many different ways I forget where I saw them and then forget to reply! No help for me …

Please make an appointment for your drop off and collection times at least a day in advance as this helps me to organise my day too thanks. (Yes, sometimes I do ‘stuff’ too . . . Get me.) Texts are great. (Hint). Also if you do need to alter your timing(s) please don’t forget to run it past me first.

Oh and make sure you bring enough, if not extra, food for your darling’s stay - I will give you back any not used, promise. If I run out I will charge you £1 per meal I need to provide . . . and if I’m feeling evil I could even give your dog “Bakers” before it goes home so that it pings off your walls . . .ok?!. No, not really. If you feed raw then you must remind me at least a week in advance so I can be sure I have sufficient freezer space/stock. I now can provide raw food to save you the hassle of bringing it and to help me manage my storage. I charge £3/kg which is payable at the end of the stay.

Please don’t bring beds or crates etc - just a blanket/snuggle if you wish - as I have plenty for them (and I've discovered they never seem to sleep in their own anyway). I also have lots of bowls including slow-down ones for the enthusiastic eaters. I use my own leads too . . . in a bid not to lose yours.

The guests will get to wear a Hotel collar with my mobile number and postcode printed on it just in case they try and go AWOL, - as I feel it is better if I go and collect them, rather than you, especially if you are abroad at the time, as it's quicker that way.

Any naughty doggy who forgets themselves and causes damage or piddles/poops excessively etc will also land its owner with a repair or cleaning bill . . . you have been warned!

Finally, please bear in mind the less you give me in the way of doggy accoutrements (label them if necessary), the less I can lose/destroy/give to the wrong Hooman etc - help me out by checking you have everything you have given me (including your dog - refer back to "Swiss Cheese Brain") when you check out . . .! If you insist on bringing toys they may well not be returned . . . not in one bit anyway. There may be lots of fluff instead. The squeaker will get eaten. Treats are always shared between everyone as I'm not mean enough to give one dog bickies and not the others especially if they are watching. And they know, trust me.

Love Michelle, Spud, Roxy, Misty,The Noodles, Waffles x

Not too hot for a few games of ballie! Here we have Bertie (colourful Woolly), Whiskey (big splotchy), Noodles (Golden and wispy), Cookie (little old lady Beagle with a lot to say), Boomer (also a mature Beagle with loud opinions), Monsieur Alphonse (Frenchie x and a noisy ball obsessed nut job) plus my scruffy Waffles and Roxy (the other ball obsessed Staffie nut job). The rest of my crew were having nothing to do with it. Cookie didn't come outside to play but to complain about the excitement.
