🌸💕 Valentine’s Day Warning for Pet Owners! 💕🌸

Love is in the air, but some Valentine’s gifts could be dangerous for your furry friends! 🐶🐱 While flowers and plants make beautiful gifts, some are highly toxic to pets. Be extra cautious with:

❌ Lilies – Extremely poisonous to cats; even a small amount can cause kidney failure.
❌ Dieffenbachia (Dumb Cane) – Can irritate your pet’s mouth and throat.
❌ Philodendron – Causes oral pain, drooling, and vomiting in pets.
❌ Sago Palm – Highly toxic; can lead to liver failure in dogs and cats.
❌ Aloe Vera – Mildly toxic, causing vomiting and diarrhea.

💝 Bonus Tip: Keep chocolates and roses out of reach too—chocolate is toxic to pets, and rose thorns can cause injuries!

🛑 If your pet ingests a toxic plant, seek help immediately!

Lovely Lenny looks very happy here, but if you notice what’s in front of him he soon started to regret some of his choices…

Lenny’s owners brought him in to us after realising he had been chewing on and possibly ingesting some Ibuprofen tablets 💊🐾

Ibuprofen is incredibly toxic for dogs and can cause stomach upset, kidney issues and seizures in high enough doses 🤕

Vet Nicole induced vomiting so Lenny would bring up any undigested tablets and then sent him with come oral charcoal to absorb the rest. We we’ll be keeping a close eye on him over the next few days 👀

An amazing before and after! 😱

The handsome Sn**ch here is an older boy so has trouble keeping his long coat clean. After a while this can cause matting which can be very uncomfortable 😢 so Sn**ch’s owner brings him in for a sedation and lion clip where we shave off all of his matted fur 🪒

While this may seem extreme, like a lot of cats Sn**ch does not tolerate regular brushing and so it is easier for him to go through this process every few months 😴

Matting can be very painful for animals as the hair can pull on the skin. It can also cause skin irritation and infection if left for a period of time. Getting your pet used to regular grooming can help prevent mats from building up 🪮

Teddy is a rescue who went to his new home just in time for Christmas and according to his owner made himself right at home 😎🏠

It’s called FORL’s (Feline Oral Resorptive Lesion) featured in this video. This is when cells called odontoclasts start to destroy the surface of the tooth. It starts underneath the gum, making it very difficult to diagnose. It’s also very painful.
