Everyone say hello to Nellie!🐶
She’s in with us today for her routine spaying procedure and was the bravest girl.

Did you know spaying your dog includes many benefits such as:

•Eliminates the risk of an infection in the womb known as a pyometra.
•Eliminates the risk of unwanted pregnancy or phantom pregnancy’s.

We will be seeing Nellie back in a couple days time for a post operative check to make sure she’s healing nicely!

Please talk to our nurses if you wanted to query getting your animals books in for their neutering procedure!❤️🐾

Much like fleas, we are seeing a lot of cases of Kennel Cough in the area.

Kennel cough is a virus that is highly contagious and is similar to the human cold. The most common cause of kennel cough is the pathogen called Bordetella Bronchiseptica. This is spread through airborne droplets from other dogs coughing or sneezing, it can also be transmitted on surfaces and in the environment aswell.

Symptoms typically start within 3-10 days, and usually involve honking, coughing, fever, runny nose or eye discharge.

Kennel cough normally resolves but for young, sick or elderly animals it can sometimes be serious.

If you think you animal may have kennel cough, we recommend contacting us for some advice. We also recommend no walks at all, for at least 10 days from the last cough to prevent spreading this disease further.

If attending the practice because you think your animal may have kennel cough, please keep him or her in the car and do not walk the around the car park or bring them into the practice unless asked to by a member of staff. Again, to prevent contamination of other animals.

A ‘stressful’ trip to the vets today for Kenzie, who took the opportunity to get in as many tummy rubs as possible!🐶😍

Did you know that only a small percentage of fleas actually live and survive on your pet? The rest are in the environment.

This does not mean you have a dirty house, fleas do not care and will go anywhere.

We are seeing a increase infestations at the moment, and advise our clients to keep up to date with a veterinary strength flea treatment (over the counter products don’t tend to be strong enough.) we also recommend treating the house with a good house hold flea spray such as Indorex. In can take up to 6 months to get rid of a infestation!

We also offer for cats, a 6 month flea injection called Program Injection, this will also help break the flea cycle.

If you are treating your animal and still noticing fleas, it may mean you need a stronger or different product and that you need to treat the house.

Call us on 01622858666 for more information on how to protect your home and pet.

08/09/2021

Unfortunately we have had a power cut so are unable to access our records, medications, take payments or answer phones.

We are hoping it will come back up soon, but after speaking to our neighbours it looks like we are all out!

We are so sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and Thankyou for your understanding.
