Finally, a podcast all about the cockapoo!

Latest FREE podcast! 🥳🥳

I see cockapoos the most out of all the dog breeds and at first I didn't like them much. But as I got to know them better I realised it wasn't the dogs at all- it was the owners! (surprise surprise)So why are these dogs acting out all the time, wh...

I see more minis than any other dog breed for separation anxiety and here’s Sooty!

This is her waiting as patiently as she can for her owner to return from the other room! She did very well in the session where we mainly focused on teaching a “loose stay” on the sofa for chicken.

Sometimes I don’t use food in this program but lots of dogs find it helpful thinking the process as a training session (where they learn a prolonged stay) rather than just suddenly being told they mustn’t follow their owner out the room.

Bribes work so well! 😉

Check out Frank! ❤️ I was called after Frank bit his owner hard, on the leg, when trying to lure him away from barking hysterically at a mallet!

(A fairly scary tale- you never know what you’re going to see as a trainer and safety is very important)

Another very important thing is being open to all information and an open mind.

After working with Frank, (persuading him to stop attacking the hoover) he showed a really strong fear towards this- and all things that make a loud noise. He also showed a sensitivity and extremely sweet demeanour that bulldogs have, he is a lover, not a fighter.

Once I had told him he couldn’t attack it, his next instinct was purely to avoid and even run away! Trying to persuade him to stay near the ( switched off) hoover was FAR harder than telling him to stop barking at it! This hysterical behaviour was fear based.

If a protective dog thinks his owner is in danger he will try to prevent it. It’s very likely Frank was actually trying to keep his owner away from the mallet (which previously had been making some very loud noises).

Don’t judge a book by its cover- or a dog by its bite.

I have officially been successful with BOTH the West and East Women’s Institute auditions !!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

And this is the dog 🐶 who’s likely to be joining me for the demos 😂

He may knock everyone flying but he’s very entertaining.
Which is obviously the priority 😉

Look at Brucey ❤️ ❤️ he is just SO cute but boy can he nip! It hurts SO much and he’s constantly looking for things to do and individuals to annoy….

German shepherds thrive on constant training, they’re much easier to train at this age so I encourage owners to put a lot in now to reap the rewards later!

Simple things like asking for down every time he approaches a human, carrying treats in your pocket so he can be rewarded throughout the day, even if you have a busy family life.

Simple downs and waiting means he can be involved and still “working”, using his brain which is ultimately what he wants to do.

Latest FREE podcast has arrived!!

How to manage dog aggression (and my best tips for which areas to train for).

Not all dog aggression is going to be fixed, due to time, skill level, genetics or (literally) how many dogs come up and ruin your hard work 😔

However I manage Flicker’s reactivity and she goes off lead every time! We have no pulling or barking either and it’s almost entirely down to management these days.

Some dogs will always be dog reactive to some extent, the walks are stressful and you're mourning your dream walks with the carefree attitude everyone else seems to have. But there is a way forward!Management and my top training priorities for dog...

Unique Dog Training

All Fawn Dog’s dog training is based on calming signals and positive, natural body language. This gets really fast results and can work with all dogs from nervous to aggressive ones. Most owners only need one session to change their dog’s behaviour and I always encourage full use of the free helpline given after the session.

Private dog training in Essex, Kent and outer London. All problems, all breeds welcome- please read my reviews about my high success rate.

Your session will include;

  • A full assessment of your dog’s behaviour,
