For outdoor pets - Think extra bedding, extra hay, check they have access to fresh water and bottles haven’t frozen am and pm, if you’ve got a heat disc or pad they’d appreciate it, over the hutch from drafts, allow ventilation still, for sheds consider a pet safe heat lamp.

Do you live locally??

Our four deer fawns (who look like they are going to start a girl band in this photo) have a very healthy appetite and are working their way through our supplies rather quickly.

If you have any bramble, hawthorn, hazel or birch cuttings and are happy to bring them to us, it would make a huge difference.

They are with us for the next few months at least so if you are able to help as well as spread this over time, that would also help tremendously.

We now have limited spaces on our books to welcome new pets and their owners for holidays as sadly some regulars have passed away 😢

PETPALS is no ordinary place…Pets and their people really matter here, we hope this is reflected in our 100% positive 5 star ratings and the feedback from our regulars 🫶. We attract fabulous people who adore their pets and want the best possible holiday care and we appreciate that you are placing a lot of trust in us. However you will soon realise we live and breath a lifestyle where animals and their welfare is very much part of daily life on our lovely little farm. Sarah is experienced having followed a career in animal care, is qualified, insured, reliable, honest and has a wonderful way with animals and people. Your peace of mind is our priority and so nothing is too much trouble when it comes to your pets care with all their usual routines being met from late night snacks to daily toy changes, relaxing music and understanding handling - we will follow your instructions and routine.

We are huge supporters of the Rabbit Welfare Association “A hutch is not enough” and so for bunnies and piggies we have fabulous indoor facilities with walk in bedrooms 2mx1.5m, heating or aircon as needed and hay is never in short supply. We have been Vet checked and our vet even took her shoes off to go in Pet Lodge and commended us on hygiene and bio-security 😅

We also welcome birds from chickens to budgies and rodents for long and short term stays. Chicken live over at the stables.

Some of this weeks guests! I’m afraid the piggies were hiding away and the hamster is sound asleep! The bunnies always seem to be in the limelight on here but there are lots of piggies who holiday too 🫶

My WhatsApp doesn’t seem to be sending photos abroad but Mums and Dads rest assured all pets are relaxing to classical music and there is plenty of hay to enjoy! 🥰

Wow it’s a hot in the UK right now, I hope everyone is ok and your pets are coping too, as I was doing my pet care rounds today I thought I’d do a video as extreme heat is a worrying time for me. Excuse the no make-up but I’d been doing a lot outside in the heat to keep the chickens and horses comfortable and was baking myself to be honest! 😮‍💨 Thankfully Pet Lodge has aircon so the little pets are thriving

Remember, if it’s too hot for your hands or your bare feet, then it’s too hot for their paw pads! ⚠️

If you’re unsure whether it’s okay to let your pet go for a walk on pavements, a simple way to test the temperature is by holding your bare skin on the tarmac for five seconds ⏱️

If you find it painful, then your pet will find it painful to walk on!

To protect your pet, it’s best to avoid walks during the hottest part of the day, which is usually between 8am and 6pm. If you can't safely exercise your dog, missing a day won't hurt.

Easter is feeling like a distant memory…we had our regulars back and just loved caring for them again and catching up with their owners. There is such a trend here now of the same pets coming at the same times of year that they tend to go back into their usual walk in bedrooms and have the same neighbours…amazing! Saying that because of bio security guests can’t touch unless they are from the same household. You will see a group in the photos of 4 Bunnies’s where they can see and touch, that is a special dividing panel specifically for that situation as they can see and touch at home and I also use it for bonding bunnies (a tricky business at times!). I’ve added some photos of the children enjoying their ponies….so this was our Easter, at home on the farm together!

Our Pet Lodge houses indoor spacious pens which are ideal for our house pets to include house bunnies, guinea pigs and tortoises. Conventional Housing: We will still offer traditional hutches with our luxury cottages and runs for those that wish to use them and we find some of the shy piggies do love a cottage hutch which gives them the privacy they may prefer. We have a variety of animals that holiday with us to include Rabbits, Guinea pigs, Chickens, Ducks, Parrots and small house birds, Hamsters, Rats, Gerbils, Degu, Chinchillas and Tortoises...just ask! What can you expect when you send your pet to PetPals... You can expect peace of mind that you have provided them with the best holiday experience that you could afford. You will be safe in the knowledge that we will follow your instructions and daily routine to ensure your pet is cared for as you wish. We will even send you photo updates while you are away so that you can relax and enjoy your holiday. Long and Short Stays welcome, we’ve had pets stay for months and months and others just for a long weekend.

After 10 nights our prices drop and so please ask for a quote, we also offer a regulars rate and if you are requiring more than one enclosure then we offer discounts for groups!
