I’ve gained a fair few new followers recently so I thought I should probably reintroduce myself…

I’m Natalie, I’m 32 and I’m a Veterinary Physiotherapist. I have a BSc in Equine Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation, as well as a Level 7 PGDip in Veterinary Physiotherapy. I am fully insured and work with a range of animals, from those needing rehabilitation from injury to horses and ponies competing nationally and internationally across various disciplines. Along with a range of manual techniques I also offer INDIBA radiofrequency, which I’ll explain more about in the coming days.

My years of education and experience working in the field have enabled me to provide the best service I possibly can. This means I have a deep understanding of equine anatomy which helps to identify problem areas more efficiently. I also complete regular CPD to ensure that I am up to date with current research and techniques.

If you would like anymore information or to book an appointment please don’t hesitate to send me a message!

🌟 I’m super excited to officially announce Hollie Gerken Showjumping as a sponsored rider 🌟

Please note I will be looking to take on another rider over the next couple of months so stay tuned for more information tomorrow!

Hollie is a 13 year old junior show jumper who competes all over the country, including finals such as HOYS, Royal International and the London International Horse Show.

This year has been a very successful one for Hollie; she recently won not one, but two classes at this year’s Horse of the Year Show, taking the top spot in both the Leading Pony Show Jumper of the Year with Ramiro High Society and the 138cm Championship with Another Barney. Hollie also took second in the Newcomers and Foxhunter finals on Ballycarrow Mirah’s Sparrow and 3rd in the Newcomers on Velini’s Silver Star. Hollie qualified 8 ponies for HOYS with 11 tickets in total. Safe to say it was a successful week for Hollie and the team!

I have been treating Hollie’s ponies for around 2 years now, with 6-8 weekly maintenance treatments including INDIBA radiofrequency.

I’m immensely proud of everything she has achieved and I’m looking forward to being part of the next stage of her journey 🤩

16/02/2023

A key benefit of the INDIBA radio frequency device is that, due to working in a closed circuit, areas that are not able to be reached by other EPAs will be able to be treated and receive the benefit of radio frequency delivered at 448KHz, stimulating the regenerative processes within the body.

This makes INDIBA an ideal treatment for areas such as the sacroiliac region, which is traditionally difficult to reach with other EPAs, due to its location. If you have ever seen the size of the needle required to inject into the sacroiliac region, you’ll have some idea of just how deep it is!

Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Please note that INDIBA is not a replacement for veterinary treatment and appropriate veterinary advice should always be sought in the first instance.

Today I am feeling super grateful for this little nugget, just because ❤️ Forever grateful that he came into my life almost 16 years ago 🥰❤️

I’m grateful for my smaller four legged family who are both currently curled up next to me as I type this. My boys (particularly Ted who is basically my shadow) are always by my side ❤️

I’m also grateful for my trusty INDIBA machine and the opportunities it brings me to help as many horses and ponies as I possibly can.

Oh and coffee, always grateful for coffee. 😂

This is one of my favourite quotes, I genuinely think it helped me especially with my exams.

Don’t get me wrong, I was definitely stressed throughout my entire exam period at university, but at the start of my course I fully believed that I would be able to do it and I did!

Swipe to see another one of my favourite quotes… this one not quite so inspirational but always makes me chuckle 🤣 I am definitely a little stitious 👀🤣

How did all of this start?

This is a long one, apologies in advance and a gold star to anyone who makes it to the end!

At school I developed an interest in being a “back lady” - one day I will get round to writing a post about that term - due to a pony I rode who used to buck. A lot. I was convinced something wasn’t right and had heard the term being used when the standard checks were being done. The only real option back then was to train to become a human physiotherapist first which wasn’t something I ever wanted to do. I found myself having no other idea about what I wanted to seriously do and wound up at University of Essex studying Psychology, I left after the first year as I hated it.

In 2012 I made the decision to look back into Equine Therapy, my dream being to work with top competition horses and those needing rehabilitation from injury. I studied for my BSc in Equine Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation at Writtle College, graduating in 2015 and loved every moment of it. I also made some of the best friends there ❤️ Whilst studying at Writtle I completed my Equine Bodyworker qualification too. That year Writtle started their Veterinary Physiotherapy programmes which I knew I wanted to progress onto.

In July 2016 I was involved in a car crash (the other driver’s fault!) along with my mum, which resulted in mum being taken to Broomfield whilst I was airlifted to Addenbrookes with a lot of broken bones and soft tissue damage. It was during my rehabilitation that I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
My physiotherapist (shoutout to Nutts Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic!) was, and still is, incredible. Being 25 and having to learn to walk again was unbelievably tough but with Becky’s expertise and support I got through it. From that point on I knew that if I was physically able to, I wanted to complete my MSc in Veterinary Physiotherapy. I attribute a huge amount of my recovery to my amazing physiotherapist, and I wanted to be that person for owners and their injured/competition animals.
In September 2018 I went back to WUC to begin my Vet Physio journey and I despite having lockdown and ongoing injuries to contend with, I passed all of my exams/assignments on first attempt and graduated in September 2020 with a Postgraduate Diploma in Veterinary Physiotherapy, starting Natalie Bell Veterinary Physiotherapy.

I love absolutely every moment of what I do, treating a mixture of patients for both rehabilitation and top level competition, as well as being part of Hollie Gerken Showjumping ‘s team ❤️ I feel so lucky to be only 31 and absolutely loving every day of my work.

I don’t have the words to explain just how grateful I am to every single person who has supported me so far on this journey, it honestly means the world to me and I can’t wait to see what the future holds. If you got this far, thank you! I told you it would be a long one… and I have tried to keep it as concise as possible! 😂

Winter walks with my boys are one of my absolute favourite things to do ❤️ Although Reggie much prefers it when there’s no mud… Swipe to see him in his element 🥰

I’m super lucky (and extremely grateful) to be surrounded by the Essex countryside so we have plenty of places to walk!

Is anyone else from Essex? Or are you a bit further afield?

What does INDIBA radio frequency do? The question I get asked most frequently!

INDIBA provides radio frequency at 448KHz in a closed circuit, with both thermal and sub-thermal settings, allowing for deeper pe*******on of tissues to increase blood flow and biostimulation.

Key benefits of INDIBA include:
- Increased blood flow
- Pain management
- Accelerated tissue repair
- Reduction of inflammation
- Improve/maintain performance

INDIBA radio frequency is a science based technology with extensive clinical evidence, and has been used in human therapy for over 35 years.

Clinical applications include (but are not limited to)
- Osteoarthritis
- Tendinitis/Desmitis
- Sacroiliac pain
- Kissing Spines
- Improve performance

If you would like some more information on how INDIBA could benefit your horse, please don’t hesitate to contact me via my page with any questions.

Please note that INDIBA is not a replacement for veterinary treatment and appropriate veterinary advice should always be sought in the first instance.

I will be explaining the benefits of INDIBA in more detail over the coming days, but please don’t hesitate to contact me in the mean time if you have any questions!

Day 4 of Sophie Callahan’s

27/07/2022

Please please please think twice before galloping across stubble fields!

I’ll admit some of my favourite childhood memories were galloping across the stubble and I know it’s tempting… but as this video from Blaircourt Equine Clinic shows they are full of deep cracks and holes which could cause serious injury, as well as being rock hard at the moment. Now I know better it’s not something I would want to risk! Not only this but also please make sure you have the farmer’s permission to be on the field.

Happy and safe hacking everyone 🥰

Wishing my youngest client Hollie Gerken and her two ponies, Princess Boom Boom and Woodhill Pelirojo, the best of luck in the Pony of the Year BS Winter 138cm Championship at the Royal International Horse Show today!

Hollie and her family work so hard with their team of ponies and and I am extremely privileged to be a part of the team.

I am so unbelievably proud of Hollie and her ponies, the hard work and dedication that she puts in is second to none and it is certainly paying off. The trust that Hollie’s ponies have in her says everything!

I’ve got my fingers and toes crossed for you Hollie!
