Polihale Hot Tikka of Foxcote (Tikka) came 3rd at the Southern Golden Retriever Society Open test. A very hot day at Chartwell but that was superbly managed by the club - the dogs were rarely out of the shade and the tests were mostly in water.

The Golden Retriever team was back at The Game Fair 2024 Blenheim, to do our training demonstration, after a year off. Sally Richardson, Sarah Winter, Adrian Phillips and myself showed off our wonderful breed, putting our dogs through various training scenarios. We demonstrated how we build up training from baby puppy age - (Adrian’s wonderful pup Radish at 4.5 months was fabulous!) up to a fully trained dog, walking up, stopping, handling, hunting and retrieving under gun fire.
A fun few days and it was great to see the interest people showed in our dogs ❤️
Great weekend away with the Midland Golden Retriever Club team at Shane’s Castle, Northern Ireland at the Golden Retriever 2024 Interclub. Ulster GRC were fabulous hosts and great event organisers. Delighted our team took second place! Well done Southern GRC for winning this year.

Great fun to have the working Curly Coat Retrievers to visit for their training day at the weekend. The sun shone beautifully and the dogs and handlers took on new challenges. So rewarding to see such positive progress through the day! Well done everyone 👏👏🐾🐾
Wells Trip of Foxcote (Trip), also available to appropriate bi***es. A proven dog who has been very calm and focused in the shooting field over the last two seasons. He was successful in his first year of puppy competition and is continuing to develop nicely.
He has excellent health test results, 3:4 hips, E0, clear eye certificate and gonioscopy 0, PRA 1&2 and ICT clear. He has the most kind temperament and is so keen to please.
Foxcote Winter Solstice (Remy) available at stud to appropriate bi***es. Out of my field trial winning bitch Tikka, Remy has also shown calm focussed ability in the field in his first 2 seasons. He’s also coming on nicely in introduction to competition. Excellent health tests, Hips 3:4, E0, Clear eye certificate, gonioscopy 0, DNA tests PRA 1&2, ICT clear.

Super day doing a Gundog training demonstration for the Five Valleys Canine Hydrotherapy fun dog show raising money in aid of Winston’s Wheels, a charity providing mobility wheels for dogs and in memory of a special spaniel called Soldier. Great weather, lots of stands and activities and fantastic to see a huge turnout of dogs and their owners having a wonderful time!
Although Tikka has, Trip and Tonic have never done anything like this before but they were intently focussed on me and didn’t once get distracted by the crowd and all the dogs that were very close by!
I shared my tips for keeping the dogs focussed on me as we demonstrated starting and building up different types of retrieve. They did me proud ❤️
I’ve just heard that almost £1500 has been raised for the charity.. Great job!

Fabulous day at the Golden Retriever interclub event hosted by the Southern Golden Retriever Society in West Sussex.
I’m delighted to say that for the the 3rd time in 7 years, the team, running for Midland Golden Retriever Club won! Great team spirit and a wonderful atmosphere of friendly competition. Thank you to the hosts who put on a superb and well organised day! My great team mates Sally Richardson, Lucy Mixture and Laurie Pittaway (who also won top novice dog and best overall dog), our chief cheer leader Lucy Jenkins and of course my dog Polihale Hot Tikka of Foxcote (Tikka) were fab and we had the best day out!
