Yesterday we lost our lovely poodle Ruby - such a big part of our lives - gentle ,playful & full of character .We & her fluffy family will all miss her & remember all the love & fun she brought x

The newest addition to the Wattrus Rescue is Maisie Mouse - this adorable pup can’t see very well but will fit in fab with our house of the perfect imperfects x Only picked up this morning but we love her already ###xx
Sadly the little old cat picked up near Thornton Dale was totally blind & had a massive abdominal tumour so our vets & us made the decision to let him go .Thank you to the finders & all the offers of a home for him .His last days were warm & comfy x

Busy start - first 2 kittens of 2024 re homed ,one adult going tonight and 4 cats being neutered today .One little kitty has spent 3 days in vets hopefully coming home today x
The cat picked up near Thornton Dale is a neutered male chipped to an address in Scarborough .He’s very poorly but now comfortable .Please share to try to find his owners .The finders have posted a pic on Thornton Dale fb page x

At this time of year there are very few kittens BUT it’s mating Season so every available unneutered cat will be joining in ! CP chip & snip still available ( conditions apply ) .Females from 4 months can breed & mature toms will wander off
We’re all about recycle and re use so any unwanted Chrimbo gifts will be given a new life as a tombola prize or hamper component !

This is a list of cats / kittens who are ready or almost ready to go to new home :
Wilson & Judith - pair of 5 month old tabbies - getting neutered Tuesday
Ribbon - dilute tortie around 1 yr - getting spayed Tuesday
Quincy - 10-12 week old female long haired black kitten ( in foster )
Xanthe - 2 year old spayed female black
Billy and Nancy - pair of black / white kittens - to go together .
Wallis - black / white female 6 months - needs a patient experienced home
We have a cat with kittens plus some other kittens who are not ready to go and we don’t book them out until at least 8 weeks .
The adoption process is complicated as we want all our rescues to go to the right home - some cats get lots of enquiries then others get no interest at all .
It’s difficult to choose who will get which cats for those with lots of takers .
Recently ,despite our home as we go policy we have had backword on cats we thought were chosen which means restarting the process .
From 2024 we shall require adopters to fill out and sign the form and pay the fee of £65 per cat once they agree to adopt .On a general basis we don’t like keeping cats for more than is necessary as it takes up space that another needy cat could use plus it’s the sooner the better for those chosen .
We are happy for people to meet cats they have asked to see but will ask for a decision within the day so we can move onto another prospective home .
Not everyone is a ‘ love at first sight ‘ adopter but we feel there should be some initial reaction which give one an idea as to whether it’s the “one “ .
We end 2023 with 20 cats/ kits in care either here or in foster

Scarlett , Asher and Ziggy Our wonderful fosterer Claire has turned 3 skinny little kits into these beauties looking for their forever homes ! Scarlett is the tortie - brave ,playful and friendly .Asher is Scarlett’s brother and is a black / white male and Ziggy is the more quiet one and he’s tabby and white .They’re all eating well ,playing hard and have had their first vaccination . They will need 3 meals a day so not suitable for those of you who work full time .They are used to other cats and children . We will give priority to people wanting a pair or with another young cat to play with .If you would like to offer a home please message or phone - even if you’ve filled in a form ! HOME NEEDED LUNA 🌙 💫 REHOMED !!! Luna is a friendly, gentle white and black spayed female who is approximately 2-3 years old originally adopted from us. Sadly her owner has suddenly died leaving Luna needing a new home. She is vaccinated, spayed, flead and wormed. Luna would suit most situations and could easily adapt to living with children, other cats and dogs.
