Excellent ride by Matt Brown to win on The Dancing Poet.
Back at the track where I had my first winner, I am delighted to have got my 600th National Hunt winner at Hexham racecourse tonight, and after Tolstoy won on the flat at York earlier in the day, my total winners tally reached 1440
Spring Cottage Stables has changed dramatically over the years. We can now accommodate over 100 horses and have first class facilities including a Kraft water walker. βΆοΈSWIPE TO SEE CHANGES
Ben deserves full credit for the fantastic ride he gave Smooth to get up on the line. It was a great result for owner, Patrick Boyle, and all the team.
However, whilst we celebrate our win, we are keeping Graham Lee, very much at the forefront of our thoughts after his horrific fall yesterday and pray we have positive news soon.
LAST APPLAUSE and Ben Robinson win the EBF Restricted Novice Stakes for Brian Ellison Racing and owner Mr P Boyle - congratulations to all connections!

Must also say a massive well done to all our team, especially Laura Robertson who look after both these horses.

What a star Sam's Adventure has been over the years, and it was lovely to see him back in the winners enclosure today at Catterick. Well done to Patrick Wadge who gave him a great ride, and owners Julie and Phil Martin.
Our first winner of 2023 thanks to Ben Robinson and Oscar Doodle at Newcastle yesterday.
Ben suffered a fall in the following race on our horse Reclaim Victory. I'm pleased to report that although they are both stiff & sore today, both horse and jockey escaped serious injuries. Thanks to everyone who has made enquiries after them, it is much appreciated.
Punxsutawney Phil was back in the winners enclosure last night for his owner and breeder, Dan Gilbert.
The win at Wolverhampton came under a great ride by Ben Robinson, which was his 100th winner for us. Punxsutawney Phil has now won a race in every code.
A few photos of Tiger Jet winning at Newcastle yesterday, thanks to Grossick Photography
It was a good day at Newcastle with a double on the card. Baron de Midleton (pictured) for members of Brian Ellison Racing Club gave us the first, quickly followed by Tiger Jet for owner Steve Gale. Both winners were given great rides by Johnathan Burke.
Great win for members of Brian Ellison Racing Club today at Sedgefield with Maggie Barrett. It was a great ride by Henry Brooke.
Also, delighted to report that our runner, Lucky Robin and his jockey, Emma were both ok after their fall.
Maggies win was no 46 for the Club since we started it 5 years ago.

11 days ago at Lingfield, owner Dan Gilbert celebrated his 200th winner as an owner, when Idoapologise won for us on the flat. Today he knocked that up to 202 when his gelding 'Kiss My Face' scored his first win, courtesy of a Henry Brooke ride. Well done to Dan and co-owner Andrew Bruce.
It has been a great privilege to have recorded 161 of those wins for Dan and for his passion, patience, love and support for racing, he thoroughly deserves every success.
Idoapologise won well for the team at Lingfield today. Well done to jockey Ryan Sexton and owners Dan Gilbert & Andrew Bruce.
Brianβs Jet.
A 4yo gelding by Jet Away. Only run twice to date. Third in a bumper at Sedgefield recently. A fun horse to be part of going into the National Hunt season.

Delighted with Oahu's win at Newcastle. He did the job easily π
Sadly, Andy didn't win βΉοΈ
The fact he hasn't walked away with the trophy doesn't change a thing ... he is still fantastic π
We would like to wish Andrew (Andy) Robertson the very best of luck at the McCoy awards at Cheltenham tonight.
He has been shortlisted for the Stable Person of the Year award, and thoroughly deserves his place in the final 5.
Andy joined us in November 2002 and is now not only a very valuable member of staff, he is like part of our family. He is a lovely lad and we can't speak highly enough about him.
Many people may recognise him from the races, as he is our 'head of travelling' and responsible for all the horses getting to the tracks and looking their best.
In November 2011, he lead up our runner in the Australian 'Melbourne Cup' in and 5 months later, our runner in the Aintree 'Grand National'. It was a great honour for us to have a runner in each of these very high profile races, and a big responsibility for Andy, but nothing is ever a problem for him. He is hard working, dedicated, passionate and exceptional at what he does.
He is pictured with Definitly Red, who he rode and looked after every day. A bond that will last forever. Red retired from racing last year and is now enjoying life away from racing with Andy.
Thank you Andy, for everything you have done for us over the years, and what you continue to do.
Good luck tonight, you deserve this recognition!
Thank you to Pollard Photography for the great photos of Nietzsche and Ben Robinson winning at Catterick yesterday.
