The Mbhongolo Trust has been set up by Baker McVeigh International as a charity fund where donations are made from a small percentage of turn over from each Baker McVeigh practice. There are a number of international charities that we support which all share an affiliation with Baker McVeigh. The name of our charity is after our rescue donkey, Mbhongolo, who now spends his days in the paddocks of our Summerveld Practice.

We are proud to announce this years chosen charities:
🇬🇧
•Maggies Cambridge - home of cancer care
•British Equestrians for Ukraine through World Horse Welfare
•The British Thoroughbred Retraining Centre
•Racing Welfare
•Phyllis Property Race Day 2022 to support LandAid
🇿🇦
•Carthorse Protection Association
•Coastal Horse Care Unit - castration drive with Summerveld practice
•SARDA Cape Town - riding for the disabled
•Johannesburg Wildlife Veterinary Hospital
•Jenny Millington - retraining of racehorses
🇫🇷
• Institut Curie Paris - foundation for cancer research.
We will be sharing stories over the next few weeks

We would like to say a huge ⭐️THANK YOU ⭐️ to Baker McVeigh & Abbott Yorkshire for selecting BTRC as one of their chosen charities to receive a £1,000 donation. Baker McVeigh said "We are an international equine vet practice and each year we donate to charities around the world that are close to our hearts." We have been overwhelmed by the many, many companies and individuals that have come forward to show their support for us during these difficult times. ❤️🐎

This might be hard to figure out what is going on. It’s a larynx at exercise of a ‘roarer’ a horse with left (horses left side, right as we look at it) laryngeal paralysis. Not a bit of wonder they stop suddenly during exercise. The airflow is virtually cut off.

The photo is a still image taken during exercise with the aid of the dynamic or overground endoscopy.
