A SECOND TOP TIP FOR THE DAY !

I often get asked when should I start training my puppy?

Well, the answer is straight away, you should think of your puppy as a blank canvas whereby you want to mould and shape them around your own needs. The longer you wait to do this the more likely the puppy is to pick up negative habits that you do not want nor desire. So, start from the get go, get it right and live a happy life. Please though DO NOT just wait for problems to arise then do something about it… be proactive and smash it from day one !

TODAYS TOP TIP- If you are struggling with re-call use a long line....this why;
1- You can guarantee your dog will come back to you.
2- You prevent the weakening of the command through constant failure... yes if your dog fails again and again at coming back your command will be compromised as your dog will learn that he/she doesn't have to respond when told.
3- SAFETY- if you cannot ensure your dog will come when told this is not safe and in the long run could end very badly.
