We took the girls to Barrow field dog park, a local secure field and they absolutely loved it. Brilliant place for your dogs to be off lead with no worries. Great for dogs without recall to have a run around and to practice recall with them, in a quiet area so good for nervous and reactive dogs. There’s some agility equipment if you fancy having a go. Right next to the field is the dog house to get a hot drink and some food. The staff were lovely, couldn’t recommend this place more💚

With Christmas approaching and shops bringing more and more rawhide out as gifts for your dog, we feel it is important to remind people and raise awareness about how dangerous rawhide is.

So what is Rawhide?
Rawhide is made from animal skin. It is treated with chemicals to remove the hair, remove the fat, puff the skin and whiten the skin, all ready to be made into a cheap chew for your dog.

Why is Rawhide bad for dogs?
As stated above they have been treated with harmful chemicals, so far from natural, and not something we would want our dogs chewing on.
They are an obstruction risk, if your dog swallows large pieces of rawhide it can get stuck in the esophagus or later in the digestive tract. Rawhide is mostly indigestible, due to this pieces of rawhide can get lodged in the stomach or intestines for days, weeks or even months and can cause gastrointestinal issues. In some cases these obstructions can require emergency surgery to remove the blockage and unfortunately if not done in time can lead to your pets death.

Please check the ingredients of your dog’s treats as rawhide is being hidden in lots of treats on the market.

You may have given your dog rawhide before and been lucky that they have been fine, but it really isn’t worth the risk.
Instead of getting rawhide for your dogs there are plenty of natural chews you can get for them instead.

Just been to check this place out before I book, what a lovely gem of a place. Easy to get to, peaceful quiet place to take your nervous dogs. Lovely lady doing fabulous coffee and other beverages. Toilet is a plus.
Good sized dog area not too large so great for recall training. There is some agility equipment for those with the more active dogs.
Very impressed, open 7 days a week.
Go book your dogs a session, you wan be disappointed

Star of the day at Windsor Championship show was Rose, first in special beginners and best special beginner in breed. We could of then gone on to special beginners group but I opted out as Rose get very nervous showing with the bigger dogs. She also came 2nd in post graduate bitch.

Such a lovely day today at The National Dog today. My girls did me proud, Franki the tear away got 2nd in puppy class and Rose 2nd in special beginners and a reserve (4th) in post graduate. Thank you to Cherry Huyton for a fabulous packed lunch and too all the lovely poodle people who give me great advice and confidence to keep going. Plus a big thank you to the lovely judge Mr Albert Wight for thinking my girls are worthy enough for a placing. Home now chilling in the garden
