Oh Scampi 🥰 a lovely reunion on our client’s return to collect this most affectionate boy.

It was Scampi’s second stay with us and we had totally lost count of all the cuddles, chin rubs and head bumps!

Derek in the clouds! Just look at those views ⛅️

Derek’s humans shared with us that previously the catteries were hesitant to approach him due to mixed signals. As cat carers, it's important to understand that hissing and pawing are forms of communication which can indicate a cat's opinions, fears, levels of confidence, health and mood. It's worth noting that frequent hissing doesn't necessarily mean the cat doesn't want your company! It's important to approach cats with patience and understanding and to always prioritise their comfort and well-being, that includes human company too😊

So what do we do to overcome these challenges?

➡️ We check what the cat we work with feels comfortable with, how close can we get before we notice any signs of discomfort? Then we work towards minimising the distance bit by bit and enforcing positive associations.
➡️ Let them sniff our hands! (A lot! 👀) Our smell give cats more information about us than any amount of talking!
➡️ Spend time with them, engage slowly and respect their boundaries.
➡️ Use Trust Technique to develop a better understanding and initiate engagement
➡️ We also use Feliway diffusers as it seems to help some guests to settle in more quickly, but don’t rely on that when it comes to building trust and connection!

We believe that there are no difficult cats, only some that are not very well understood. We look forward to meeting Derek again in the future! ❤️🐈‍⬛

Kylie and Shaka are the ultimate cat yin and yang. When I first met this pair Shaka was the most timid kitten I ever worked with, Kylie is the gremilienst of the feline world. A few moths later Shaka is playful, still being her lovely gentle self but getting over her early fears with the best mate.

Feel privileged to be able to watch this journey 💜

Even for just a couples of days, this stunning kitty stole our hearts at the pet hotel! From playful feather chases to cozy lava lamp gazing, our time with this beauty was nothing short of purrfection. 🐾❤️

Last night one of my own cats got a nasty scratch near his eye. Luckily it’s nothing to be worried about and Gekko’s been checked up by amazing 💜

While it’s best to keep a close eye on the cut and I’m away for one night our fabulous Claire will be watching Gekko and our other guests at the hotel. I’m so happy that we built this place to standards that I would like to see as a client myself 😻📽💕

Lovi Pet Hotel offers owners access to 2 CCTV cameras 24/7, showing the inside and outside sections of the pens. We also have a Feliway diffuser to reduce stress, catios in each pen allowing our guests to watch wildlife, daily play, plenty of scratchers, cat trees and multi-level platforms, food puzzles and toys rotated daily, background music, controlled heating/air-conditioning (depending on the season), and a water fountain where requested. We also provide daily updates and photos on our Revelation Pets service. Our cattery is 1.5 times bigger than a standard cattery.
