Here is the gorgeous Ruby giving you guys a sneak peek of the TikTok video our nurses are currently making, they’re trying to convince our manager James to let us have a TikTok account!
We think it would be the cutest😜🥹 let us know if you want to see the final video when the girls finish it☺️
Everybody meet Woody, he is a four year old Pug who has been having ongoing breathing issues at home. Due to this he came to visit our surgeon Fati to have an operation commonly recognised as BOAS surgery, this stands for Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome. Some common signs of BOAS, in our breeds such as Pugs or French Bulldogs include: noisy breathing, reduced or inability to exercise, gagging when eating or drinking, open mouth breathing and a bluish tinge to the gums.
The first two video clips in the attached video are of Woody before his surgery, as you can see and hear, when Woody gets excited or worked up he struggles with a number of these symptoms. Fati one of our incredible surgeons was able to perform BOAS surgery, this involved him widening Woodys nostrils, shortening the soft palate and removing any excessive tissue around the larynx.
The final clip in the attached video is of Woody after his surgery, as you can see the noise difference and visible improvement in his breathing effort is seen almost instantly after surgery.
Woody was the best boy and our nurse Paige and Student Nurse Abbi loved looking after him. Our whole team couldn’t believe how well he recovered and we are looking forward to seeing him back for his post operative check ups❤️
If you are worried that your dog shows any of the above symptoms and would like to discuss this surgery then please contact our practice on 0161 794 4100.
Rabbit
This is the rabbit we had brought in yesterday afternoon, does anybody recognise him? He was found near station road. He is not neutered and unfortunately a microchip was not found. He is super friendly and doesn’t mind being handled so he must have had a home at some point.
If you recognise him please contact the practice on 0161 794 4100.
Something a bit different at work this week - We had a bat brought into us with a few small injuries and our nurse jo is working hard rehabilitating him, he is making progress and enjoying his lovely meals and taking his meds! What a cutie🦇🤎
Anni had the cutest tail wag saying bye to our nurse Jo after her day with us😍❤️
Reggie was all smiles when we reminded him it’s Easter bank holiday weekend😄😄😄
We hope you all have a fun filled time!! 🐣🐰
