Hopefully we’ll have his DNA test results back this week for coat colouring and PSSM 🧬

What’s PSSM you may ask?.. PSSM is a disorder that causes muscle cramping in horses from abnormal glycogen (sugar) storage in the muscles. Sore muscles, muscle weakness and cramping are all signs of PSSM. Type 1 PSSM is caused by a mutation in the GYS1 gene.

We’ve NEVER as breeders had any signs of this but we feel as responsible breeders we want clarification 🙌🏼

CHAPS (UK) Dope Test Results - CHAPS (UK) Midland Regional Show

CHAPS (UK) can confirm that 5 exhibits were selected at random for sampling in order undertake our joint anti-dope, testing procedure as laid out in the CHAPS (UK) Handbook.

1. KBF Lucia (L Cameron)- Negative

2. Lostock Uptown Funk (T Lewis)- Negative

3. Braveheart (S Shuttleworth)- Negative

4. Freckleton Real Class (D Radford) - Negative

5. Colour Coded (J Wormall) - Positive for Oxyphenylbutazone & Phenylbutazone

CHAPS (UK) have conducted a disciplinary hearing in relation to the positive test result, for the exhibit Colour Coded who was exhibited by Miss J Wormall, and as a result the first placing has been disqualified. Miss Wormall is also required to pay a fine of £1500.

Back to stud for some are our lovely ladies! They’ve gone to be covered by the incredible Hermit all that Jazz 🎺

We’re so chuffed with Cobwebs blagdon chestnut filly we’ve now got 3 girlies to be covered by him!

Also we’ve been deciding which foals we’ll be advertising available after weaning.
It’s such a hard decision as really we want to keep them all! ☹️

Sadly last year Blue absorbed her foal. Fingers crossed she goes full term 🤞🏻

Blue is pretty unusual, she’s a blue and white Appaloosa. We have no idea what colour she’ll produce! Hopefully it’s going to be something really special 🙌🏼

He’s now only 6 days old! And absolutely HUGE!!
Just look at the size of those ears!
And his colouring is also changing. His patches are going a lot lighter, looks like he’s going to be a yellow & white 🤞🏻
