***App Update***

Everyone should update to the latest version of the app on the App and Play stores, this should solve any issues.

We have added a couple of new things.

Maximum dog's large van/crate spaces

This can be used to limit the maximum number of large or X Large dogs you can handle per service. If you have limited Large crates in the van for example. In order for this to work the pet must be allocated in the pet profile as Large or X Large

Calendar explanations

On the calendar when you go to add a booking manually you will see what is happening on what days, this can also be used when you're not sure why someone can't make a booking, just go and try and add them yourselves and you will see the reason.

We might roll this out to your client too, but we want to get the feedback from you al first.

We have now added a few small, but useful updates.

Invite clients anytime

Previously you could only invite clients at the time of creation, you are now able to do it in the client profile at the bottom

Client reminder emails

You can now choose which day of the week is best for you to send out email reminders to clients
Extra emergency contact

We have been asked a couple of times by daycare licencing to add emergency email and emergency address.

The update is now live on both App and Play stores.

Christmas and New Year Support Hours and Payout Dates
Support Dates

We will be working until Thursday 21st 12 pm
We will then be open for support again on the 27th of December.
We will also be closed on New Year's Day

If there are any questions or anything you are not sure about, please ask.

Online Payments

If you used the online payment system, you may want to do some manual payouts over the Christmas period so your monies don’t get slowed down with the bank holidays.

Our suggestion would be if you want to receive your payments on Wednesdays as usual then a manual payout in the money section of your app using the “Send me my money” button should be pressed on Friday the 22nd and Friday the 29th.

***Rebranding Ideas***
We are considering a rebrand and would like to know if you have any ideas?

“My Pet Walker” doesn’t really fit what we do.

We came up with the name because our most searched term on our dog walking website was “Pet Walker” However with hindsight, this was always a poor choice as that was people looking for people to have their dogs/pets walked, not dog walkers looking for and app/software.

6 years on and we have moved on too, this was originally set up for dog walking, but we now work a lot with daycare, boarders and kennels too.

We are trying to come up with some more general pet care software/app names with the view to expand into other pet areas in the future.

A couple of key things when choosing a name for us will be what is the domain name and the trademark situation is like, but we can check them if we come across something we feel fits.
We do have some ideas ourselves, but let's see what you guys can do!

Android 10 or less

I posted about this a couple of months ago, but it's just another reminder.

Google no longer supports any Android phones using Android 10 or lower, 9, 8, 7, etc.

Google stopped supporting Android 10 in February 23. Therefore they will no longer be doing any updates.

Therefore we can't either.

We are generally getting a few questions about things not working each week and they are all regarding phones with these unsupported operating systems.

If you or your clients have a phone with Android 10 or older and the app is installed it will continue to work, but it will lose some functionality a bit at a time and will no longer be eligible for updates.

The upload image/photo will likely not work as these Android versions are no longer supported by Google.

Remember you or your clients can always login via the web app if you're phone is no longer compatible.

We always do what we can to make the app and browsers backwards compatible for as long as we can.

We will maintain this for the following browsers.
Chrome
Safari
Firefox

Apple does this kind of thing too, they no longer support the iPhone 5 for example and they will stop supporting later models in the near future I'm sure.

It's a neverending list of things to do to stay compliant with the app stores. 🥴

Please remember a lot of updates made by both Apple and Google are security updates made to improve security, if your phone is not supported then you can't be sure it's secure.

"I would say the My Pet Walker app if life life-changing for a dog business owner. Dealing with many clients at once can be very challenging, combined with council requirements to collect certain vital information it can mean bookwork soon becomes overwhelming.
