Another 7 horses brought to safety from willow farm with more on the way now. Some horses walked all the way from the willows and some are being loaded on to trailers kindly donated by the public.

We will have roughly 23 horses by the end of tonight as there’s another weather warning for the weekend and better safe than sorry!

We are happy we have managed to help so many owners and horses so far it is absolutely unbelievable the damage that has been caused to their yard and belongings 💔😩

If anyone has any rugs etc to donate the address is Carrington riding centre Isherwood road m314bh the horses only have the rugs on their backs everything else has been destroyed. If anyone has any chaff or pony nuts too❤️.

Just an update.

Out of all the carnage today we do have some better news that we managed to safely rehome this gorgeous girl who was made homeless in just her short 9 weeks of life. Luna was originally on foster from last night but immediately fell in love and has now been adopted. ❤️ good luck luna ❤️

We safely moved 8 horses to our farm and another potential 8-10 horses tomorrow as their farm is currently under water and too dangerous to move any tonight so bright and breezy in the morning coordinating with the horses owners we will bring more to safety.

We appreciate everyone’s concerns and help with the tragic events of today and are so sorry for the animals who sadly lost their lives. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. We can’t thank the people enough who came down today and donated rugs haynets buckets etc. we would like to help these people who have lost thousands of pounds worth of gear so if anyone has any chaff, pony nuts, hay, bedding, rugs of all sizes, haynets, buckets, tack anything we would be so appreciative and so will the owners and horses ❤️

Two yards near us have flooded. We’re on a mission to rescue the rest of the horses and everyone’s gear is damaged. We need bucket haynets rugs anything please 😭

❌❌❌SERIOUS NEED FOR HELP❌❌❌

So here it is, our vet bill for just 26 days.

This is because we have taken in in the past month so many ill, injured and poorly animals. This is NOT a reflection on the vets pricing. This is the sheer amount of animals we’ve helped this month over 76 animals in total…

I’m still baffled as to why rescues aren’t government supported. And the only way of getting some little help is by having charity status but you don’t see the red tape they put up to get it. We’re still in our process of getting our charity number and I’m hoping in the new year we will get this but until then there’s hardly any consistent funding readily available for rescues.

I’ve had the toughest month going this month. Christmas was meant to be about happiness and family with it being our first Christmas with our daughter but that was swiftly brought crashing down with my own personal horse I’ve had for 11 years being put to sleep due to a deadly form of colic.

I’m broken. I don’t want to talk to friends I don’t want to just sit at home and chill out because I’m grieving but I’ve got to keep going. I’ve got to help the many many animals who have been let down.

I really need help or I’m going to spontaneously combust, it’s not for the faint hearted but right now I need that leg up I need to get my head back on track.

Please. Please, if you can help with this bill I would so so appreciate any amount even 50p. Even a subscription to our newsletter for less than a cup of Starbucks coffee.

FOUND CAT!!

Found at a scrap yard business in the pimhole area of Bury.

Not chipped or neutered. Could have turned up in a car as many cars in and out of the industrial estate. Business was shut for 10 days over the Xmas period and couldn’t be left with no food etc. Not a residential area and locals checked and asked no one recognised this beautiful boy

He’s been cleaned up since pic taken oil is a killer to get out of fur!

Just 19 days to rack up £3,506 of vet bills.

HOW are rescues meant to keep funding bills like this? I dread to think what my bill is going to be at the end of the month. You can see on the 28th I paid £3,250 too. So this months bill is definitely going to be over £4,000.

Our fundraiser is tomorrow we’ve had a couple people back out of tickets so I have 6 left but if we still raise even as much as last years fabulous fundraiser we won’t even be covering half of this months bill.

This is JUST the vet bill. This doesn’t cover ANYTHING else our rescue has to pay. At the moment our bills are well past £13,000 per month for everything it takes to run a small rescue.

I DONT WANT ANY VET BASHING. this is from the sheer amount of ill animals we’ve had and neutering/spraying more cats than we’ve ever seen before. Because it’s a CAT CRISIS THIS IS NOT THE VETS FAULT.

This is just a little message to everyone and I would like people to read.

We, and I don't just mean us at CLAC, we mean every single rescue up and down the country are dying.

Rescue is not for the faint hearted. You have to be bold, take no cr*p and deal with so much stress and heartbreak whilst drowning in debt. There's also being compassionate, energetic and an open mind which in general day to day life is easy. But not when you're suffering mentally.

Ive seen a few posts over the past year or so of rescuers around the country taking their own lives due to the sheer amount of stress and no amount of animals you save help you when you're in a dark space. You just look at the negatives.

Now im one of the luckiest rescuers there are because I have such an amazing back up team to tell me when im being stupid or when I need a kick up the bum to help me realise how many animals we've saved to date. which is 2,016 animals. in 5 and a bit years... wow thats a lot saved. We're just a small rescue I can't imagine how proud the bigger rescues are of their success's

Right now, rescues around the country are struggling to high heavens. One fabulous rescue I know of Kitty Rescue Bury have just saved a cat that had multiple breaks to the legs and a dislocated leg. he's now standing. He's had his op and it cost them bloody thousands to save just one cat.

We as rescues should be helping each other, we should be screaming each others names from the roof tops so others get to hear it.

As Christmas hits and adoptions stop it's the worst times for rescues and we kindly ask even a share, a like or a comment to help promote rescues around the country! A donation would never be refused either
