As gorgeous as Jake’s feathers are they had to come off last week due to him having CPL and needing treatment to make it more comfortable.

He was an absolute star for me to clip his legs given how sensitive they must of been but now we can get the right creams on them and hopefully prevent it from getting worse🤞

There is lots to look forward too this year and to start it off me and Kinder will be heading to Area Festivals at the end of the month😳 much to Kinder’s disgust the holiday is over and we must start cracking on with some dressage for the next few weeks💪 with some fun inbetween of course!

It’s been a busy December in the run up to Christmas🎄

It’s been my busiest year yet and I would like to thank all my amazing clients who have made it possible. The horses will now have a small Christmas break while I try and have one too ready to come back refreshed for 2024. There’s lots to look forward too🤩

I’ve been very busy the last couple of weeks especially when trying to get everything done while dodging the huge amounts of rain we’ve had.

This is Zara. She is new to Bournefield and so a new client for me too. Zara has been having a few short in hand grazing sessions a day building up to start gradual turnout now she’s 4 weeks post op. She’s a lovely girl and has been impeccably behaved given she’s been on box rest for so long.

First time jumping Moët today😁 another lovely horse to jump and I am so very lucky that Alison trusts me with him🥰

The ground is perfect with all the rain we’ve had🌧️ Me and Toby have been working in the arena as the ground has been so hard but seeing as it’s rained a lot we took ourselves back up the jump field🐴 he had a few backwards moments to start but at the end he jumped these few fences at 90cm which is a huge achievement for him😁🥳 #freelancerider #showjumping #jumpforjoy

We didn’t have a ‘Toby Tuesday’ this week as he’s gone off to camp at boomerang with Tiff. Tiff has been working incredibly hard to get the same results that I do with Toby jumping so to receive this video yesterday of them doing a small course of jumps without any issues was fantastic! He’s not been easy for Tiff and to see this makes me so proud of how far they’ve come along together and long may it continue🥳😁

Unsurprisingly, Kinder is finding this particular exercise a little bit difficult as seen in the video. He isn’t looking very comfortable at lifting his shoulders independently to step over the pole which suggests he is still feeling sore after our fall🥺 A single raised pole at knee height is great for getting a horse to use their thoracic sling and lift through the back to step over easily. They should be allowed to go nice and steady over the pole stepping over gently one step at a time. I will continue to add this exercise in small doses into his rehab so that we can monitor the improvement over time🙏 #ryndvillesiontas #equinerehab #inhand #poleworkforhorses

Toby is really growing in confidence jumping now which is such an awesome feeling😁 Being able to sit and let him take me to a fence, spooky ones at that, is a huge accomplishment for him😊 #freelancegroomandrider #showjumping #assistedlivery

Toby put on his brave pants and was a superstar up the jump field⭐️ We started small and only used 5 of the jumps to keep things simple but he completely outshone my expectations and jumped all I asked him to do!😁 next week we will try the other fences we have in the course🐴 Don’t forget the show jumps at BARC can be hired so do get in touch if you would like to book!
